B-Spec is a lot like marmite you either love it or hate it.

Me personally I think it’s a good way to sit back, relax with a beer in your hand, watch a few races and laugh at the stupid mistakes bob does from time to time.

However the question I have is PD said this time there won’t be any separate events for b-spec, you can just switch at will from A to B-Spec, what worries me is that I have already done most of the events in A-Spec, so how will it work, will there be separate stars for finishing it in bspec mode, prize money, car rewards etc?

Just want to know what every one else’s thoughts are on this?

Put me down for hate on Marmite bro! :D
I personally dislike the B-Spec, as I strongly believe is total pointless.
Come on, Felipe Massa wouldn't just stop in the pits for a cuppa, handling his Ferrari to"Bob" Smedley IRL, would he? (Pun intended).

Depends what motorsport you pick. How about GT racing? Each car has 3 drivers, so simulating this with B-spec would be very realistic.

I only did it on GT5 when I was doing something on the PC, so Dean would be earning my money. I'm not looking forward to it except if they add true endurance races so I could actually do something while Dean's racing.

Well one thing you can do and I look forward to is having Bob run the 24 minutes of Nurburgring for the 600k+ credits while I eat dinner or watch a tv show or whatever. Comes in handy when trying to build up some credits and you have somethign else to do

I'm thinking that B-Spec might appear with an online mode (like GT5, racing against friends Bobs) and, will coincide with the release of some PROPER endurance races, this will give B-Spec some use in 1 player.
We live in hope.

Isn't B-spec just a very slow way of getting credits? Is there really anything other to be gained from it? Miles on the clock for your cars maybe, but that only leads to you having to buy oil and fix broken chassis or whatever.

Never understood it as anything other than automating the grind. Which makes the grind even more pointless.

It's funny because he's probably going to be like AI which has massive problems driving in rain.

That's ok the race allows you to overpower the AI so I would think BOB could win just fine if you give him the right car. Would be easier without the rain though due to him wanting to pit and change tires

Due to me having a vast disposable income at this point, and with those new seasonals and the Red Bull challenge planned, the point of B-Spec earning money for you in spare time is pointless to me. However I can see how useful it would be had I been poor on there.
I mean it's how I (and many others) earned money on GT4, B-Spec-ing the DTM championship, so why shouldn't the same logic work here? :P

i prefer the GT4 version of B-Spec. it was there if you wanted it (for the 24 hour races) but wasn't required like in GT5.

I completely agree GT5 B-spec was a waste of space if you ask me. A GT4 type B-spec will be a welcome return but only if PD reintroduce proper endurance races, otherwise it will be a bit of a waste too!

There wasn't much difference between GT4's B-Spec & GT5's imo, so I'm guessing it'll stay pretty much the same in GT6. I don't like B-Spec very much at all. However, I really hate the career mode in GT6, so if I can use B-Spec to clear it if need be, then I'm gonna use it.

There is. In GT5, A-spec and B-spec is segregated. ;)

No slower than getting them yourself and useful when you want to do something else for a while. On GT4 I used the B-Spec a lot, mostly to do the short endurance races like El Capitan where Bob could complete it in about an hour and earn you a bit over a million credits, I would start him before I left the house, started a movie or sometimes before going to bed. It helped a lot with credits.

As for the grind to me playing the game is not grinding. I buy these games so I can drive the cars and earn credits to modify them and buy more cars. GT5 was a grind due to having to gain so many XP to unlock the later races but in GT6 I had them all unlocked in no time and then was able to run any race I want any time I want. Much better and credits are not a problem I have been able to earn plenty of credits while enjoying the game.

That would be interesting, although I can't see that happening. Can you?
Having said that, the idea is kinda growing on me :D

Kart races are painful this time around. They are last events to gold in B, IB and IA for me. Not much fun.

Indeed. In GT 5, the kart races were fun and not a pain in the neck as they are now. I swear if you make a turn even slightly, you end up spinning out :banghead:.

I love BSpec. I just hated the way the implemented it. Give the player more commands and actions for Bob so you really feel like a race manager. Give players the option to adjust suspension, aero etc along with changing tires just like in real life during pit stops and between series races.

Give us a bob the really learns instead of one that even at the highest level still misses the same turn lap after lap after lap. Those are some of the things that made BSpec lackluster for me.

But I enjoyed countless hours of just watching races while I did work around my apartment. While you race you don't get a chance to see the cars exterior until you look at the replay. But with BSpec you can see it while enjoying a decent race.

I think PD will upload more races into the career and seasonals and allow us to either a or b-spec them. Now what's grinding my gears is that they are pretty mum on endurance races, though the s class events is evidence that enduros maybe returning, and if we can select bobs to mature their talents. Remember how a single bob, even though his bar was empty in gt5 can still manage to race just fine? Will that be the case again or will fatigue actually be implemented?

I don't understand what the point of B-spec is? If it was a full fledged race manager thingie that would be pretty cool side game but if it's just a way to race games without playing I don't quite get it. There are no more endurance races, races are just 2-5 laps with just a handful of longer ones. I blew through the career mode in a day or two, I don't know if I have much interest watching Bob sloppily plow through races again. It was 'ok' in GT5 but was mostly a tool to help with endurances. If it's more of the same I don't know if I'd really get too excited for it. We'll see I guess.
