B-Spec On Ovals

Hey guys, im doing a bunch of spec-b races, and i have hit a real problem with doing an oval race.

The car im driving is the same as the competition, only i have 200+HP extra, and its a bit lighter.

What ever I do, the drive sucks at slipstreaming, and I come dead last after 6 laps.

First lap im usually up front, then slowly the other drivers overtake me as they DO know how to slipstream.

Is that a picture of your driver in your profile? That might explain why the other cars seem to have less air resistance :-)
 
I assume we're talking about the sports truck race? The b-spec driver is really pathetic. With 300hp more, sports tyres, better suspension and half a ton less you'd expect him to perform better than the other cars but he just completely fails. He brakes on the main straight and almost comes to a standstill in all the other corners in a freaking ovall track.

At first I thought it was just the low level but Leveling up to lvl10 has made no difference whatsoever. Screw B-spec.
 
Just train your driver up and fully tune the car/truck you want to use raise the gear ratios as well for that bit extra top end I had my Dodge Ram do 180 round Daytona easily

Even when you do that the damn driver slams on the brakes down to 120 on the turn. My lightning has 600hp, I setup the suspension...and its getting OWNED. It manages first every time first 1/2 lap then just gets destroyed. This truck series in A-spec I beat with the lighting being totally STOCK! :grumpy:
 
But the problem with B-Spec drivers is that thay are pretty useless lol, My only other advice would be to make the top speed as high as you can without wasting revs and the extra speed over the other AI should in theory work to your advantage before he slams on into the corner
 
Yeah I can't leave mine alone with oval races...lol I have to keep telling it to pace up nd over take.
 
Well i was looking this up because i had spent a fortune on a stupid truck for divvy bob and while i was reading the posts he managed to come first.
Bob was a fairly aggressive level 4 and did all the normal stupid stuff like braking on the straights then was suddenly in th lead on the last corner..... So i guess, have some hope and wait till the end.
 
I had the same issues. Won it easily myself in a Lightning but I sold it (along with almost all my cars) when an FGT was in used cars.

I eventually won it with a SSR fully maxed out with the brakes at 1 & 0, he still slowed way the hell down.

Stayed up around the front most of the race but dropped all they way to 9th on the last lap. [smack forehead and cuss]

But to my surprise, he drafted his way to first and won by about a tenth.
