Anyone have any tips on a car for this? I am using the TVR Tuscan Speed 6 00 with 541BHP and 931kg yet the best my level 10-13 drivers can do is third on the first track (London)... against typical opponents with 245BHP :guilty:

Do I just need to level my drivers up a bit or is there another car I should try?
 
Try using a driver with a cold personality.
 
I also struggled using the TVR ended picking up a used Caterham 7 installed full engine / weight reduction upgrades and fitted the closest ration gear box to it. Found that by second lap Bob was usually always in the lead and was able to comfortably win race without needing to be told to speed up constantly as he usually does.

TVRs suck in B-Spec. Hard.

I had a hard time with a TVR as well. I bought an Elise 111R afterwards, race modded it and Bob obliterated the competition without further upgrades. Even though the car had roughly half the power of my TVR.
 
Bob can't drive a TVR for SQUAT! But he golded in the Fireblade with all mods, although I did have to keep mashing the overtake button at London. He really doesn't want to pass on narrow tracks.

i was having a hard time with the tvr tuscan 6 as well, until i tried the lotus 144r race modified car, handled it no problem
 
used a lotus 72 '01 moded to about 240hp... won it no probs :)
my driver has a cool personality and i hardly have a problem with b-spec...
 
The Elise R111 I used for myself was more then good enough for even Bob. Use that and he can blow through the course without much coaching.
 
I used a lotus esprit (forgot the model) that i found in the used car section. Performed the weight reduction to get it under 1200Kg and just left the stock 300 or so HP do the rest.
 
My Bob used a '96 Lotus Elise RM.
 
Funny enough the Mclaren F1 is considered a lightweight... Yeah, Bob won with about a minute.
 
Caterham with weight reduced and 180 HP won it for my guy
 
Jag XJ13 race car won it for me, although the comfort soft tyres don't make it too easy.
 
Thx all, bought a lotus 04 and won easily. Waste of cash on the tvr
 
Jaguar E Type is the way to go. great handling car and Bob doesnt get too crazy with it

Mclaren f1 will smoke them 853 hp max with low down force
 
Bungle Bob has hit a brick wall on this one. It's the crappy tyres he has to use. To powerfull a car and he can't put the power down. Anything too light and he spins out of control. I'm at a loss what to use with him. Nothing is working
 
I used the Lotus Elize 111S (I think that's what it's called). Modded it a little bit, and won by a long shot.

I got it up to 232hp and I will repost if this works. I don't have the race suspension but I don't think I need it. The newer Lotus are faster, lapping down in the low 1:07's, but pop a 1:06xx at least the lead car does (clear track).

Another issue is passing sure you can generate enough straight line speed but your mid-corner speed is too slow...

I had to use my fastest B spec driver to get by London. I found the car had been ran so many times that the engine needed refreshing. So after that, a minor suspension tweak and put a wing on the back to back end would stick through the carousel, nailed it.

Got the lead after lap 4 and never looked back.

Top Gear test track I did on the first try (1st reset), I changed the LSD and add a bit more camber to the front, that was it.
