B-Spec seasonal event help

Ok, so my B-spec driver is level 27 and I am doing this seasonal event which is the high speed ring with a Vauxhaull Vectra 3.2 V6 '03. It's a 400pp race and I have the fastest car with great cornering. The top speed is 214BHP at 6100rpm. Its an FF drivetrain if it matters.

Anyway, I can't seem to win this race and the fastest typical opponent has 193BHP. What can be done to win this race?

P.S. My driver form is blue
P.S.S. I also have the same problem with 650pp races with the Nissan GT-R SpecV (GT Acadamy SPECIAL) when the fastest typical opponent is 645BHP and mines is 867BHP which is waaayy faster.

Its an FF drivetrain if it matters.

Try an FR car in the 400PP race. Try to keep the weight off the drive wheels when possible in corners. If you want suggestions on cars or tunes I'll help you with either a tune or to find a good tuner.
