Maybe its just me, but after realizing that my wheels are in fact not broken and its part of the game, I'm wondering if anybody else is annoyed by the "back-torque limiter" that kaz has tweeted is the reason that the f1 cars and x1s will have their throttles engage without being touched by the driver. it is not very noticable with the controler as it gets worse the more lock on the wheel you have after lifting off mid corner. The esses at suzuka is the most noticable section I've found.

maybe the device itself isnt terrible, but the way it affects the car is really annoying. I also don't think its always been this way, but that it was patched into the game at some point.
Is anybody else noticing the issue and annoyed?

I think what you are talking about is the throttle control on the Red Bull and Formula One cars, the F1 cars have that in real life. It is not an issue, I use a wheel and it does that but actually gives me better handling.

Yeah, sounds like they found a way around the LSD regulations. :dopey:
The X2010 doesn't half love to "rotate" off-throttle, especially when the speed drops to the point that the downforce has dropped off, so I guess it's to stop engine-braking ("back-torque") from overwhelming the rear tyres when turning.

OP, look...the ammount of downforce that is generated by F1 and not to mention X2010/X2011 is such that the moment you go off the throttle the car decelerates at a huge rate which impacts the differential.
If there was no back torque limiter we'd all have big difficulties whenever we lift off in a Formula type car because the car would tend to lose stability and oversteer in corners.

The FGT didn't used to use any back torque limiter and was a complete dog handling wise in slow corners. It was updated in 2.00 to include one and now handles much better.

Agreed. The difference between it post and pre update make it seem like a different car.

Not matter how annoying it is, or may seem, without it the cars would be much, much worse to drive.

It makes them harder to drive, not necessarily worse. Some people would prefer "aids" not to interfere with their driving experience.

I loved the fgt better pre-2.0. I spend at least 1 hour a day in one as i race in a series with them, they just take precision and a proper tune for the track your racing to handle well. I love them

The simple fact for me is now that the ferrari f1 cars don't lose the speed i expect them to when i lift off in a corner, yet lifting off in a straight would prove exactly the same as if the limiter did not exist as its non functioning with no lock on. i guess i don't understand it fully, but does that mean the engine breaking isn't happening when the wheel is turned?

the argument that without it it would seem much worse to drive i don't really agree with as before the update i really loved driving the f1 cars and now, mainly at suzuka, i find them undriveable.
