backup data and reinstall gt5 question

i would like to run a safe mode on my ps3 and choose "Restore File System " option to try to fix some error or corrupted data, and also i might want to reinstall GT5 again but i don´t want to lose my progress, so which data should i backup to my external USB: SAVED DATA UTILITY or GAME DATA UTILITY?

Back up the saved data utility not the Game Data. The game data contains DLC, tracks, replays, photos, thumbnails and cars. The Save Data contains all your progress and stuff that just you have and your data.
 
I had to do a full reinstall recently. I kept the save data, and kept all my DLC apart from the kart tracks which vanished.
 
I reinstalled them and all is as it was.
 
the USB that i currently have atm has only 250 mb memory, lol gotta get me something better then that

i'll do the backup soon and reinstall then i will post the result

250MB is usually fine as the maximum save file is usually around 10MB, mine 3.5MB.
 
well it didn't allow me to choose what i wanted to back up, it just said that i need additional 1.9 gb of space! maybe because i have other games installed?
