bad glitch in gt5 ='(

today i was playing for about 2 hours and i whent to look at a car in game.. nesxt thing i know the music shut off *menu music* and i returned to the main screen but the gt logo kept flashing as it does when loading for 5 min.. i quit the game and it said please wait, i waited a long min... and then it whent blank... i had to hard reset my ps3.. and i thought strange glitch, re did it and again.. it goes .... how do i fix this glitch the game just locks up when ever i try doing anything that involves loading, and the music while in the menu just suddenly stops...
 
might post a vid.. this is scary ..... i thought y ps3 was yold me.... but no it works , im scared to try a new game please tell me this is gt5 related ='(
 
Back up your save data QUICKLY! Better to be safe than sorry if the YLOD occurs.
 
your laser could be going..

my gt5 was acting weird, would freeze loading, races would never end, gt5 wouldnt launch, then a day later stopped reading discs altogether

im reading on the fourms other people are having the same problemb.. btw hw much are 60 gigs... i dont want a stupid slim...

ok yea my ps3 broken =( teh game wont even load any more past the main screen =(

ok its like 95' were i live so can that f up your disk drive...

my ps3 is offiialy broken.... lbp2 wont start up and the disk is stuck inside =( how much are disk drives on ebay,help me people!

I had my ps3 freeze up a few times, to the point where I had to unplug it. Weird...

unpluging the system, you mean the switch at the back wouldent work.. tahts od that switch is just a breaker switch so its imposible for it now to work...

Well, it depends on who you're buying it from. The whole drive can go from around 40 to 80 dollars, even higher.. The laser lenses alone are also in the same range. My other PS3 just needs a lens but I haven't got the time to fix it yet. :indiff:

mine reads the disks just frezzes after i boot them, i called sony and the guy there told me to restore my system... =(
that takes hours ....

Try to back your data up first before you restore. My launch model stopped reading discs altogether, at first it was the BR and then DVDs and CDs won't even show up on the XMB. I restored and still no luck. Which model do you have?

My PS3 broke afew months ago. I sold it on ebay for $120 BROKEN!!! Used that towards a new 1. You Cant go without GT5!!:nervous:
 
It's certainly not a glitch, backup your save data, and see if anything happens with other games

Me too. Sometimes when I go to shut it off it just freezes and I have to unplug it. Wondering if thats bad....
 
im taking it to be repaired and heavily modded , copper panels, better fan/gpu clocking etc.
RE .. yes when i become stressed like this i just wanna go play gt5 and cruise around trail mountain =[ sigh... i cant do that tho...
quick update: today was around 105 degrees outside and 98 inside due to no ac, so my mom just said turn it on tomorrow after it cools down, considering my ps3 works 75% of the time after testing it over 15 times ,with the exception of quitting the game it might just be the heat il post tomorrow, if not il get it repaired =D

oh and quick update: ps3 wasn't broken it was the heat wave were i live, i booted it working fine now, temp dropped to 75 degrees in my house it was border lining 105 4 hours ago... i read online only computers are meant to run past 100 degrees due to large vents ps3's are meant to handle short periods of over 90 degrees that the ps3 regulates with its fan but when its 100 degrees outside the lil fans just puffing in hot air..
booted up gt5 worked just fine, looked around dealership for 5 mins in game, it did it just fine... loaded pretty quickly etc. the thing i got happened within seconds of me turning it on, it would freeze or start up and the music would cut and once you got to a loading screen it wouldn't load =D now wee'l wait for tomorrow , keep you guys updated.
plz reply if you think the heat had anything to do with it, my ps3's running fine now... <- yes now!!!! =[ if old faithful dies!!!! best 200$ i ever spent!!!! * yes got it launch date for 200$, dumb kids n there wii's *
 
Try elevating the console with a gap underneath the PS3 so air can circulate. This might help with the heat issues.
 
Hi, Try cleaning the disc, any scratch or smudge may need a polish. Also try a lasar cleaning disc (dollar store's OK) to get the dust off the laser lens.... Have fun.

Hi, Yes, that might help too. My PS3 froze for a couple of days. I put "sticky bumpers" under it... (the kind you use for picture frames) that seemed to help with over heating problems in the enduro races...It hasn't been a problem since then... have fun.

Does sound like the disc drive is on it's way to silicone heaven, I had 2 old style ps3 do that to me, laser went on one and the whole drive module died on the other, easy enough to strip down and check on old ps3, just make sure u unplug it first.lol. If it's an old ps3 bin it and get a slim, if it's just the disc drive gone, will still run and you can grab your data off the hard drive, would advise not to do a ps3 to ps3 transfer as there may be a problem on software in old ps3. If it won't turn on at all it's a screw driver and a bit of fiddling to get hard drive out.

This and a small fan may help too.
 
Quick update: gt5 runs fine loads fine etc. no issues did a ful lap on 2 tracks works good, now of to try lbp2 which froze upon loading up...
game also quits properly instead of ps3 restarting and never booting up... dam heat
 
possibly last update. would recommend a mod to close this thread
lbp2 works .. but ima hold of from playing a few days =D
