Bad News ?

Has anybody else recived a message from another user on PSN ?
I hadn't been on for a couple of days and when I logged on I recived a message from somebody I don't know saying that I had to send this message on to 10-15 others users , it says that I have to do this to show that I'm a active user and if I don't there's a possibility that my account could be shut down . I haven't sent this to anybody due to being suspicious and I'm not very up on all the technical stuff in the way of computers and stuff . Am I right in thinking that this kind of thing ( if legit) would come via email from PSN direct ? Thanks in advance to anybody who replys here 👍

Any messages on PSN which ask you to send to a few other users is a hoax / spam. Just ignore it.

Yeah, I got that too. Load of old rubbish.

Got it too and it made me laugh. I mean, you have to download the firmware update, change your password, log in, and then check your messages before you even see the chain letter. I'm pretty sure sony will realise you are using your account before you get to that point.
