Hello, Is it possible for me to have a one week banning from GTPlanet? At school I go and post here alot and I think it'd help my progress alot if I didnt go on here so much. So please, can I have a 1 week banning to see if it helps me get on with my work better? I do realise I also require self discipline, but in a way I think this is self discipline. yes I expect to be slated for this but I think it will help me greatly. My grades are suffering.

I expect this request to be rejected but I think it was worth a try.

If you were worried about being slated by anybody then why not just pm jordan, one of the admin or moderating staff? Would have been a bit more private for you too. I dont see why your request would be denied as many people before you have requested temp bans for small periods for very similar reasons, exams usually being the most common.

You've been talking about this for about 2 months now. Although last time I sat with you at school you went on This, F1.com, Liverpools offical site and searched Google for pictures of Senna and GV.

That would/could work, but that would mean he would need to have enough discipline to not just go ahead and get a new password.

Well, requesting a temporary ban also means that he has to have enough discipline not to request being unbanned.

It also means he has to have enough discipline not to simply register a new account.

What it boils down to is that he needs enough discipline to come here less.

Ok, sorry if this is not about Alex. but can I ask a few questions as well?

1. If you are banned, do you actually lose your premium membership (or course, if you request to be banned....)
2. If you are banned, does your post average still accumulated?

If its both true, than theres no point of a ban request.... (unless of course, you have more specific reasons other than school or work....) Alex., I think its not gonna help if your account is banned because of school. Even if your account is banned, you are still gonna surf GTP as a lurker/guest. So there is no point in requesting a ban. Just look at it this way, try to discipline yourself by not going online so often at home/school. Trust me, if you concentrate more on your studies, you could forget about GTP and improve yourself. Now, I don't even go online so often, since I keep myself busy with other activities..... (well not really, but at least I tried... )

1) Yes, if a Premium member is banned for an offense, his premium membership ends with his regular membership.

2) If you are banned, you cannot make any more posts, and so your number of posts cannot increase. I do not know for sure if VBulletin stops adding days to your membership when you are banned for calculation purposes. However, that seems like wasted code for an unimportant detail, so I doubt if it does.
