"Base Model" cars and changeable numbers?

In the description on the "Base Model' versions of the GT300/GT500/GT2/GT3/etc. cars, it says:

"This base model can be customized to different colors and numbers"

Does anyone know how/where to change the number on the car, or is this a feature they haven't put in yet? I've been looking around in the garage, paint area, parts area... and I'm not finding anything.

Get in the car, then go to your garage. On that first page at the bottom is the option to change race number.
 
Also if you go back into your car list and update the image for that car it will appear with your new number on it

Just know that once you set a number you can't not have a number on it, I personally like them painted but not tagged. ;)
