Basic Information Problem

I'm having a seriously annoying problem which is preventing me from playing GT Mode. When you first open it up, you have to fill in profile stuff etc.
When I get to the basic info stage, when I click 'OK', the button makes the usual ding noise but the menu stays open. It doesnt freeze, but the menu won't go away either. I can keep dinging the 'OK' button, but nothing works. I have tried restarting the game, the PS3, including text in the boxes, no text, different combinations of selection boxes and I've waited. None of which have worked.

Any ideas? :guilty:
 
Make sure the disk is free of fingerprints and try it again, wipe it clean. similar thing happened to me with Uncharted 2 where i would get to a certain load point and it would just sit there. after many reboots and troubleshooting i eventually cleaned the disk and tried it again with success. hope this helps.
 
Any solutions? I have the same problem, and IT'S DEFINATLY NOT the disk, because I opened it for the first time 10 min ago, and didn't even touch it, only the side.

But I take it out, just to be sure, and there was nothing wrong with it.
Now I'm trying the full install, i seriously hope it'll work:@

Or else it's a big fail.

I'm having the exact same problem. First time I logged in since the update and it will be stuck on that screen. Can edit the text etc. but can't continue or go back.
I just got in by not been signed in to PSN. Once I was in the GT Life screen, the 'Basic Information' screen didn't come up and I logged in by the XMB and everthing seems fine. Give it a go!

Update - I just tried going in while signed in and got the same problem again. Also repeated the problem on another profile and after checking the disc.

My advice is to just stay signed out and hope the problem fixes itself when the online goes 'properly' live on release day. Who knows, it could fine in an hour (Midnight GMT)
 
have the same problem here.
i tried it the first time and choose installing in parts.
now im installing the full thing and try it again. hope it solves the problem.

Only similar thing i had was when i tried fill out the msg thing. then it bugs completly. It has to be clean to continue until everything online is working
 
My guess is they put a time lock on this update to prevent people from playing or starting careers until the release date, although this is only speculation. At least I hope.
 
But in europe, it already is release day.
Plus there are videos of people getting past these screens with no problem, look at Chris's video.
 
Had the same problem yesterday evening. Shutdown GT5 and went to sleep. This morning I started up GT5 again and went through the menus without a problem. Strange.
