Apologies for my bad English
The Tuning car Grand Prix is around the corner and I dont have at car to participate with, last years winner car Opera 350Z was way to good and I have to look for something else.
At a trip to the local used car dealer I stumbled over a real nice ride, a bit weak at the moment but already slightly tuned from the fabric. I took it for a test ride and it was love at the first corner, gad damn this car has some potential. Got it for a good price and took it right home. First thing at home I gave my companion Bob a call, when I told him abut my plans and my car he laughs his sorry ass of and even drops the phone. He thinks Im out of my mind trying to compete with such a weak car and tell me that Im alone for the ride if I go forward with my plans. Bob is a talented driver but also a spoiled brat used to always have the top of the line material and also the fastest cars, witch thru the years made him a bit lazy and really poor on overtaking other drivers.
I took my little car to the guys at HKS and got a sponsor deal with them, it was some hard work and in the end I have to pay for the stuff if I dont win, but if I do win I can come back and the will put in what ever they have, the lot. But for a starter I have to settle whit stage 1 turbo, sport exhaust, racing breaks a suspension.
The warm up race was at El Capitan, a track that really has become a favourite thru out the years.
The lineup was impressive to say the least, Yellow bird had some plans to race this year and a RUF RGT, Spoon 2000, Amuse 2000 and a Blitz Skyline.
Bob came by just to witness my fall and have a laugh on my behalf hung-over like a pig as always
.
As last years winner I started this race from the last spot on the grid but I had no doubt about the capacity of my ride and blasted past the two cars in front (Spoon and Amuse 2000) right at the start straight. The car handled just as good as I hoped it would just begging for me to push it harder and harder, a genuine drivers car. Overtook the Skyline on the first part of the fourth lap, and started to gain on the two RUF.s but not as much as I wanted. I finished the race in 3:rd place with mixed feelings, I had hoped to be closer to the Yellow bird but I have some more cards in my sleeve. Bob said that if I beat the Bird in the Grand Prix he would take care of the two 24:hrs Le Sarthe races coming up next al alone. I smiled at him and told him to start training.
Home in the garage I started to tinker a bit with the settings of the suspension and gearbox, it really paid of and I gained a couple of seconds on the test track every time I went out.
Now Im al busy with the packing and preparation for the GP so I have to get back later.
BTW any guesses of what wonderful little car I will drive?
