this will be one of the best races i think ill ever see. there are ferraris, porsches, vipers, lambos, monaros, elises, lancers and WRX's in this competition.

should be one hell of a race and i think it will be interesting to see how the monaro stacks up to the competition.

This will be good - what coverage is Channel 10 giving it?

yeah, probably 10. they end up getting most, if not all, motorsport.

Thoughtful number eh??

Actually, it's on Channel 7.

I must admit I have a few issues with the mods the Monaro was allowed - Bowe was talking about the concessions Procar made and the car is closer to a European GT spec car (think Prodrive Ferrari 550) than GTP cars.

It's running the Corvette C5-R engine for crying out loud!

but its up against the nimble lancers and rex's. come on mate, its GM, they go overboard on everything.

Well, it's actually running in the series against the Ferraris and Lamborghini in the Nations Cup, not the GT Performance category where it SHOULD be running.

They can run the 427 (if they build it) in the Nations Cup, but this is a bit of a stretch.

WHAT! i thought thats where it would be running! i dont think its got much of a chance in the nations cup. its...its basically just a standard monaro with a huge motor and racing wheels.

Heh - that's not even close to half the mods.

This thing's running a purpose-built rear subframe, purpose built rear suspension, Ford (yes, Ford) 9 inch rear diff - it's more of a sports sedan than a Nations Cup car.

hey, it should be starting soon... I want to see the 7 litre monaro in action.. :)

Isnt there a thread about this already. There is no lambos or vipers because they were pissed off at the monaro for being a 427 instead of a 350.

i dont know why the viper drivers complained, their motors are far bigger than the monaros.

but then again, you just have to look at a holden and know you have no ****ing chance in hell of winning .

holden wins bathurst twice in a year.

the monaro absolutly thrashed the competition by...get this, 23 laps!

sorry porsche, sorry ferrari, sorry honda, toyota, BMW etc...just not up to the task

Heh. Unlucky the Porsche GT3 was leading (Brabham) then had to retire with driveshaft troubles :( Ohh.... Damn. It was also good to see a holden win though :D

Well, the concessions given to the Monaro - they really take the edge of this win.

That thing that won - that was a Monaro/Corvette hybrid - it bears no relationship to the road car.

Yes, i think Holden should have ran their own engine, instead of just dumping one from another car in it. It is unoriginal... :|
