and when you are running in x3 on bspec there is sometimes a orange and red arrow appear above the cars does anyone know what it mean i thort it was that they person with it on was chatching but noticed that they where getting thurther away at times

thanks

You can find this by searching.

Battle Points - have you b-spec go balls to wall from 6th to 1st then slow down to last then repeat untill the race is over ( make sure to win, but by a small margin ).

The orange/reddish arrow above a car means it is gaining time on the car ahead of it in that particular segment of the race. Press X while watching b-spec from the menu and you can see the time segments, which car is fastest in which segment etc. This can help with slowing your car down in specific areas manually then speeding them back up.

You get the most battle points by starting sixth and finishing in first by not more than a few seconds. Dropping back and re-passing doesn't really help (but it doesn't hurt either).

Before this gets locked can I ask a question??

When I have Bob run a free run, I can leave him there for 8 hours of game time, I'll check his stats and they havent upped, it's like they've frozen. :\

That's because you've already gained the max course and skill points you can get with that car class and track combo.

to up your machine skill get slow cars, medium cars, fast cars, and race cars all in FR, MR, RR, FF, 4WD (one in each section) unmodified and have your AI do ten laps in each on a different course - if you don't have 90 machine skill by the end of that then you did something wrong.

Drivetrain layout makes no difference whatsoever. All that matters is horsepower, weight, tires and downforce, much like A-spec points.

Sorry, wrong thread. Please delete!

That's news to me, I did everything under the sun to get my machine skill up from 90, finally found a sub 100hp FR and wham another 5pts with only 4 laps. I had a ton of fwd sub 100hp cars and b-spec'd them.

You can max out your B-spec driver at 10000/100/100/100 with just four cars; a VW Lupo, Mazda Miata, Toyota RSC Raid Rally Car, and Nissan 350Z Concept LM Race Car. Agreed, one of those is FWD and one is 4WD, but the other two are FR; no MR or RR cars needed. And you have to make horsepower/tire changes to them as you go.

Note that all four of those cars can be obtained very easily early in the game.

Ah, thank you. I'll do that then, I thought I was going mad or something, no matter how much racing I did with him he just wouldn't budge!!

Be sure to give BobK some +REP (just click on the ) for those excellent and helpful responses... I'd +REP him but it says I need to spead some around before I can Rep him again.

BTW: Before this thread is closed or dies, now would also be a good time to remind those interested in this topic to look at the official GTP thread on B-Spec located in the LOOK HERE BEFORE YOU ASK – Many FAQs sticky thread that too often appears to get ignored ;):
