I was looking at the codes (to refresh my mind) listed at
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/help/bb-codes

IIRC there used to be an option to use [ post = 12345678]....[ /post] to create a link to that particular post instead of copy pasting the complete URL.
Does it still exist and if so what is the correct way of using the code?

Thx.

If you click on the number next to 'report' you get a direct link to that post and can link to it like this going to a specific post in the BTCC thread.

Is that what you are after?

That one I know about :) I'm looking for the shortcut [post ] version IF it still exists.

Unless I am forgetting something, there was never such a bbcode here. You may be thinking of either the old anchor tags (which let you link to a specific location in a post) or the quote tag parameters, which let you specify a specific post being quoted.

Here's how the quote tag parameters work now, for example.
Code:
[QUOTE="AMG., post: 10547681, member: 75620"]I was looking at the codes (to refresh my mind) listed at

The best way to link directly to a post is to use its regular permalink.

@Jordan could well have been called anchor tags, that I don't recall anymore. But I'm convinced that the [ post] did exist at some point in the past here on GTP. That said no worries I can make the new way work for me too. :)
