Hi everybody, woke up this morning, I suddenly had an idea

GT LOGO.jpg + Kickstarter_logo.svg.png
although the GT is SCE's biggest popular racing game

but I often wonder whether the lack of funds to make

assuming this is true, that why we, as a fan of the little money they make good progress?

After all, PD and Sony contrast Turn 10 and Microsoft, behind the PD's not a lot of money

Above all just assumptions, have a nice day:gtpflag:

...............Hell they sunk north of $60 mil on GT5 so yeah they have plenty of dough. Too bad it wasn't a 4 star Michelin effort....

Oh and if you wanna "crowd-fund" PDI, well you can always buy some MTs in GT6...

i dont think this will make a difference, you can give pd an infinite amount of money and the game will still be the same, money ≠ more staff, and more efficient workflow.

The only thing you could start, is a donation, in which PD would probably offer you some treats that you "could" get...
!! just examples !! = (your name in credits, a car you like to be in the game, some other stuff, ...)

They do have a lot of money, enough to make a way better game.

haha.. I hope so!

maybe.. but think about if them want to expand the size of the company or hire more staff, also spending@_@

Do you have any evidence at all that the failings of GT are due to a lack of money?

GT5 cost $60 million or more to make. It sold 10 million copies. This doesn't show either a lack of funds or a lack of income to me.

You're calling me a fool? I'm not the one assuming that the company putting out tens of millions to make games is cash strapped.

I'd suggest just buying an extra copy of the game and giving it to a friend. PD get extra income and your friend gets a bonus.
You could just donate to PD by buying a microtransaction too as stated above.

Money is not a problem but focus on wrong things during the development of last two games is. It is all about how effectively you use given resources.
maybe them just put the funds are used in physics engine and improve its..

maybe them just used too much money on other things in sponsorship:lol:

This may be the best approach at this stage it !! 👍

The extra benefit to PD is that their sales figures go up slightly too. Leading to possibly more funding, sponsorship and partnerships in the future.
I almost feel guilty for paying PD only once for the number of hours I enjoy playing the game compared to how long I've spent on other games for the same price. But only almost guilty :)

.................Oi, thread title's changed. What's up?? Sooo, you want to help PDI secure more licenses for cars? Hmmm.....

This is a very, very weird thread. However, on a point of order...

Buying a copy of GT6 won't give PD any money at all. PD are the developers, Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) are the publishers.

SCE set the budget, PD deliver a game (sooner or later), SCE get the proceeds.

Of course if it sells well SCE might set the budget for the next game higher, so you could argue that your £35 ends up funding PD one way or another - but equally they might not, for other financial reasons. The relationship between what you pay and what PD get paid isn't linear or even necessarily correlative.

Ah, I never realised that. I assumed that PD would get royalties from each sale. I've never sold software via a publisher so I didn't know how it worked and assumed it would be like book or record sales.

$60m is a huge budget for a game coming to one platform. Could you imagine the bad press Sony and PD would get if it were to start a Kickstarter drive, no pun intended, for a future GT? They would be slated and rightly so.

The idea of buying an additional copy and giving it to a friend is questionable. Perhaps if the game lived up to it's vision your friend would have bought his own copy.

PD doesn't need more money, they need a change of attitude. Giving them money is the complete opposite of what needs to happen. Hopefully GT6's lacklustre sales is a wake up call and they will pull their socks up for GT7. I have no doubt that they CAN, but I'm not sure they have the WILL.

They expend all their money in GT Academy, so they don't deserve a single dollar from us. And even if they accepted money from us for licenses, they will get the license for the latest crap Nissan or Honda, no doubt!!

PDI doesn't need more money when a big corporation such as Sony is supporting them financially. What they do need is to learn prioritization.
