I realise that not everyone has the Anniversary Cars, but there are lots of other cars with interesting liveries that are unpaintable.

Like with the Alfa TZ2, I would like to be able to paint cars, but keep the stripes, or the anniversary livery etc.

It must be possible to change this fairly easily.
I think the Anniversary Cars in a red livery would look awesome, but other players may prefer yellow, orange etc...

Stealth designs in dark blue, Chromeline XJ13 in Black etc.

Then so many made up race cars have a fairly basic livery, where one colour should be paintable?

What do you think?

Ideally every car should be paintable, and all the colors should be available from the start. Making certain cars unpaintable and locking colors behind the paint chip system is really stupid. We can freely select colors when creating custom gauges, it makes no sense not to have the option when painting cars.
Also, we should be able to put numbers on any car and choose color for the number.

As much as I wish I could agree with this, some cars have to remain unpaintable due to licensing issues, I doubt Subaru for example would want people to paint the official WRC wrx sti rally car, unless of course PD was allowed to make a base model of that car, but other than that, I agree that the stealth and chromeline cars should be paintable (as long manufactures/ dealers were fine with it). :)

I feel special edition cars should not be paintable, especially licenced race cars. Race Cars can be paintable (As long as they don't use an official livery), but concept cars and anniversary editions should stay as is I think.

I agree with this, it still annoys me that Polyphony won't let me paint my Audi R8 LMS ultra and I would like to finally be able to paint it.
