Beaten rival way before end of season - no offer yet??F1 2010-2016

Ok........... so I beat Massa mathematically with about 5 races to go in season 1. I was expecting a contract offer from Ferrari at this point as I had read that when it is mathematically impossible for your rival to beat you the contract offer comes in?

Nothing happened.

I am now at Brazil and I still have no offer and even the paddock interveiwer is asking me if I am in talks with Ferrari............. but nothing.

Does the offer come after the last race or am I just not going to get one?

Can anyone confirm this?

Got the offer from McLaren right away when Lewis haven't had a theoretical chance to beat me. Yet, that might not be the same for all teams and rivals - so keep your tail up, it might show up after the race. :)
 
On the emails go across to contract offers ... they probably offered you the job before you even chose your rivals ... but yeah you do get contract offers even after brazils race
 
I found it quite funny that teams like Virgin gave me about 4 weeks to make a decision but McLaren said I could tell them whenever I want, so basically even after the last race. :dunce:
 
Yeah I was at mclaren last season and torro rosso and HRT gave me a contract offer which was like youve got until next week to choose ... ooo the pressure ... Im with lotus renault now ... SOOO different to mclarens drive style ... I cant get the hang of it
 
Hehe I did my first season for Delaware India and didn't get a offer from annyone I had 71 points (I did drive on expert) my rival was too fast j.buttonxD but in season 3 I drive for lotus Renault ;) I hope I get a offer from reed bull
 
Like Mr. S, I got the contract the moment my rival didn't have a mathematical chance of beating me.

Speaking of which, how can I ensure that I keep my contract in the following season? I read somewhere that its about meeting objectives, but just to be clear - is it just the team's season objectives? Or is it about individual race/qualifier objectives... coz it if is the latter, that's a bloody tall order coz the team will just keep upping expectations until it becomes untenable

Since i've beaten Rosberg (as my rival) i got contract offer AFTER GP Brasil. So its at the end of season.

btw - i've finished 7th (Rosberg was 8th) and he's my team mate now - sorry Schumi :)

expectations for first race in Mercedes - be first :)

I got the job offer from RBR 6 races before end of season for beating webber. now i did my 3rd 100% race with the redbull and i LOVE that thing. so much quicker. :)

F1 2011 has a stupid career. I set Webber as my rival and didn't get the contract, even though I became champion at India. My friend however set Vettel as his rival, won the title and got a contract to race at Red Bull. So we do exactly the same thing, only exception being I set the number 2 driver as my rival. Maybe that is the problem. If you set the number two driver as your rival, the game glitches and you don't get the contract.

I'm with you on this one, someone once raised the point, of having to talk bad about your team to get an offer from a higher team.

I also set my rival as webber, and beat him, i won the title so yeah. And even though i did, i didn't get a contract.

I picked the no.2 driver, paoloevans picked up the no.2 driver, and so did GT5_x2010. Maybe there is some logic to this.
Also Mr.s got a drive after beating Lewis who theoretically was the no.1 driver.

I don't think so, I've always picked the answers that'd make both me and my team shine. There are different ways to get your contract, I think. :)
 
I have completed my first season of F1 2011 driving for Force india finished ahead of my team mate now driving for HRTF1 team my team mate is Luize who is a pretty tough driver I wonder if I will get in a better car next season and challenge for titles I hope so? BTW AI is Legend.

How did you get a drive with Mclaren I'm driving with the slowest car on the grid? HRT
And i need to get in a faster car next season maybe Torro Rosso maybe or Lotus Renault i hope.

I had set the AI to Professional for the first season, so it wasn't too difficult to win every race from pole position in a Williams. Kind of cheating, I know - I just didn't want to waste too much time in cars I don't like. :)
