Becoming Invisible/Invincible

Call me a noob or what but am I the last to know this? I've been wondering for the longest time while racing online how the hell can some people gun it all the way on the straight and somehow manage to control a hairpin bend. Then I notice some of them becomes half invisible and one time I just went straight through them. I thought it was the lobby settings then it hit me, the start button! WTF? So I tried it and hit the start button just before the bend then there it is, the car drove itself. Tap the gas then I'm back in control. I feel so cheated for being the last to know this. Hope PD patch this as I find this cheating. But it does work so well when I tried it I was winning most of the time.
 
But then people who use it all the time would not have improve and there's no integrity in winning.
 
I've seen this happen a few times.
It frustrates me because once the car in front of me did this and the car slowed down so much I had to swerve to avoid it and ended up in the dirt. I was right on his tail so I didn't have the time to realise I could just drive through him.
