Beerfest

Thought it would suck somewhat, as I absolutely hated Super Troopers, missed Dukes of Hazzard in theatres (and am trying to keep missing it for rent as well), and wouldn't watch Broken Lizard's Club Dread for all the yen in Japan.

However, I was pleasantly surprised. There are quite a few laughs, and enough booby shots to get you through. The actors, unknowns mostly except for Donald Sutherland and Jurgen Prochnow (both with minor roles), do an adequate job. Also, after the movie I went straight to the late-night liquor store to pick up some brewskies for myself. Worth a watch, but I would go with as many friends as possible, and try to go on either a Friday or Saturday night, as this is definitely a crowd movie. Oh, and leave your wives and girlfriends at home; they won't get the movie and will only bring you down.

Super Troopers is one of my top-3 favorite comedy flick of all-time for me(Office Space & Meet the Parents are the other two). Watching Club Dread was similar to a torture. I just found out about about the direction in Dukes of Hazzard, so while I was avoiding this movie also, now I am going to rent it.

I've only heard from a friend that Beerfest looks good from the preview, which doesn't mean anything. But, Broken Lizard Club is involved in this?

Yep, it is the same group of people that did Super Troopers and Club Dread both. They are kind of like a zanny, slapstick, hope you're really drunk for this Monty Python group, without the talent.

I still enjoy their odd sense of humor and am looking forward to seeing Beerfest this week.
