Beetle Cup races?

I'd love to get a full grid of these guys online for a series. Here is what I'm thinking ...

The Beetle Cup car can be found in the UCD (just keep looking)
255hp limit (Fully modded with fresh engine is 244hp + break in/oil change)
full weight reduction (1160kg)
All mods allowed (aside from Stg II engine, which breaks the HP restriction)
ABS allowed
No other aids
Wheel drivers preferred

If you aren't familiar, the New Beetle Cup was a single-make European racing series back in 2000. It traveled to a few continents to promote the New Beetle and the VW brand, putting celebrities in the seats. I was able to see the race held at Road Atlanta and it is was really fun to watch.

Just going from memory here, the New Beetle Cup cars were different from any production New Beetle. They were based on the standard New Beetle chassis and used the 200hp 2.8l VR6 power plant and were front wheel drive, using an upgraded 6-speed gearbox. Upgraded aero bits were courtesy of the RSi, giving it a wider and lower stance while adding a functional rear spoiler and diffuser.

Was just about to say that. Look in the UCD for it ... only around 50k I think.

And don't be confused by the Beetle RSi that's also available. It's not the same car. It's more powerful, heavier and AWD.

Would've been nice for a premium though, but that would definitely work. Although its going to be hard to wait for it to appear in UCD.

p.s. i think i spelled beetle wrong... yes i did.

I know it will be a pain to just wait for it, but it will be really fun if we can get a decent grid of these guys. I'm posting now to give people time to track one down.

Oh, the RSi is a great car, but the Beetle Cup cars are a little more fun to toss around and the liveries will make replays a little prettier. =)

I will be scouring the UCD myself in hopes of getting some different liveries. If I have spare cars, I'll post up here so people can attain them for the races.
 
Do you have a time/day in mind for running this series? I'd be quite interested in participating if it's at a time that I can attend.

First post updated with specific restrictions (finally fully upgraded my NBC car).

StigsHero, I was thinking short races on a weeknight (~30 min) ... probably around 8:00 or 9:00 GMT-6 (Central). I don't have a day set just yet.

Also, please let me know if you have a car for the event. I've been looking over the UCD and have yet to see one on my save. I've seen 2 in total but only bought one. Both were the deep purple color.
 
You can duplicate and share a copy.

Then we pass it around. Snowball effect - everyone gets one.
 
Then they'd all be black/purple, at which point we could all use the RSi. Who wants all of one color of car on the track? Sadly, the Cup car is not paintable.
 
If you drive clean, I don't mind what you use. =) Wheels are just more fun and easier to manage in groups, but I understand that not everyone has that luxury.
 
I'm free pretty much any night except Wednesday's, prefer 8:00 pm EST (Indiana here) or before as I work early. Let me know if that could work. I'll search my UCD for the car today.

Anyone having luck finding the Cup car in the UCD? Still haven't seen another one ... this is putting a damper on the event.
