When a friend sits down for their introduction to GT5 what car do you put them in? What track do you recommend to them? And almost most importantly what event do you recommend?

It's nice to put them in a car that looks and feels fun. You obviously don't want to put them on an especially challenging track. Finally there is no greater catalyst for GT5 fun than a challenging win.

The greatest pleasure I take from GT5 is enjoying it with friends. However, I find some are easily discouraged by the game's initial difficulty. What do you guys set your friends up with?

I like to put a first time friend in the Lutecia Renault Sport Trophy Car 00'. Sometimes they scoff at the appearance but it always gives them a handful.

Does anyone have a car that looks cool (gets their blood pumping), handles impeccably (what every beginner needs), and delivers that rush of speed?

Not the X2010. If anything gives the wrong impression about GT5 it's this.

I put my friends in a car of their choice from my garage at a track of their choice, give them full aids and good tires and drive the same car, sans aids and with a significant downgrade in tires (think racing softs versus sports hards). They use the G25 and I use my old crappy PS2 logitech wheel. Fun challenge.

Try one of the Miatas/MX-5s on sports tires on Deep Forest or a similar track. The Miata isn't hard to drive, and it handles quite well, its also fairly quick. I used the 89 Miata(premium) to learn to drive better in GT5, its a great balance between being fun and easy to drive, and also a bit tail happy if you push it to much.

I will put them on an upgraded toyota celica or honda type R on racing soft, SRF on, traction 5, ASM off and drive in Sunday cup. FF are easier to control and these cars do not understeer as much and wins on the straights by a mile. Chances are, if they are new to driving simulation, it will be challenging enough. Then K Cup, Eiger seasonal in uptuned Mazda Autozam to appreciate power oversteer in FR with sports soft.

Then I give them a Bugatti Veyron or Zonda R (for premium cockpit view) and send them on Indy in turbo challenge. Gives some speed rush and fairly easy to drive and win.

Lastly, X1 for some bumper car action on Indy and some laughs.

FF.....cars do not understeer as much.....

As much as what? A car running with rims only on the front?

FF cars don't oversteer (Not normally anyway) but are more prone to understeer. So it depends on what you prefer.
I would normally go for a car that oversteers slightly on exit but not too much that it is hard to control.

So for a car, I would pick the Go-Kart (for something different) or the Ford Focus because it is easy to control (May understeer a bit) and isn't at all too fast.
For a track, I would use Deep Forest as it is a good looking track that shows off GT5 well and isn't too hard with the Ford Focus.
The event shouldn't really be an event at all. Just send them to arcade mode and get them doing laps so they can see how much they improve per lap. You always get that feeling of satisfaction when you knock that bit extra off your previous lap time.

I gave my friend a shot with the Ferrari 430 Scuderia. My most used car in the game.

4WD cars are difficult to spin. Definitely start with a smaller normal type car.

Subaru something then?

Rome is pretty simple and looks nice.

A stock murcielago SV on racing soft tyres on Circuit de la Sarthe. They will love the straight lines:D

AC Cobra.

Comfort Softs.

Cape Ring Full.

I actually did this to my friend he thinks he's better than me at everything.

Humble Pie. Nomnomnomnom.

If they are a Forza player, I put them in a common track. Laguna in a stock Premium STi to show off the interior. If they are a complete noob, try High Speed Ring in a MINI Cooper S, premium as well.

My wife wanted to try out my new DFGT when I first got it,using a DS3 she could never keep the car on the track.I put her in my RM'd Cappucino and within a couple of minutes she was running 120mph on the High-Speed Ring.....now she wants to run laps whenever she has an afternoon off.:nervous:

Peugeot 908 its so funny watching them on the ring
