I was thinking about in the future when I can afford a new (used) car, that I may want a mod car for drifting. I have no experience in drifintg whatsoever, so a car to just start drifitng and making it possibly decent is something I'm looking for. Something cheap and easy to upgrade.

The only cars I can think of are:

Nissan 300zx
Nissan 240sx
Mazda Miata
Ford Mustang (Never drivin one but I assume it's more of a drag car)

Anyone else have any suggestions? I hate for my list to be so empty, but I can't think of too many older (but still decent, say mid 90's) RWD or A/4WD cars.

It's just a thought for now though, who knows what I'll end up doing.

miata isnt good drifter for beginners. the main ones are 240's and the 84-87 (?) corolla gt-s. those are the main since they're easier to drift since lighter and more even weight balance. seen some rx7's but dont know if hard to drift or not

go with a 89-94 240sx, their fairly inexpensive and you can do so much stuff to it, although the stock ka motor sucks, so you can prob swap out a SR20DET motor, which is turbocharged and intercooled making 205hp stock.
only ifyou have the money that is..

I've seen drift cars with Rb26's(R34 skyline engine), turbo'd ka motors, and lots of them have SR20's , they are your best bet
thx

Also the AE86 Corrola GT-S is also an excellent drift car. The Mustang is more of a universal platform. You can do what you can please yourself with.

240SXRacer
Go with the 89-94 240SX or the 94-97 240SX for drifting I have one of both and they are the greatest

You're full of it. the 1994 only came in convertibles and automatic, not to mention it was still an s13.

There is no "drift car". Any rwd car with lsd can drift. And for those who say mustangs are drag cars.. just check out Ken Gushi and Team Falken.
