Yes, I know very well that one month ago, two matrix thread were started, but as I only saw the movie two days ago, and that the previous two thread were more "review" type threads, I started this one.

Basically I need questions answered. I dont feel the movie answered enough.

a) Is Neo dead or alive?
b) Is the city portrayed in the final scene in Zion, or a part of the matrix?
c) What was the role of Sati? Is she the next One or Oracle?
d) What didnt Neo just blow his electomagnetic bomb when he crashed into the robot city?
e) How did smith learn to assimilate other beings?
 
a - dead
b - good question...I think its zion
c - no...I believe she was what taught the machines to 'love'. a very unimportant and stupid character to say the least.
d - it wouldnt have done much to completely eliminate all of them. it only has a certain radius of affect
e - part of some survival thing that lets him just 'rewrite' other programs. much like a hacker

How can that be though? The oracle was in the matrix. And if that city was in the Matrix, then nothing much has been accomplished in terms of freeing the humans from robotic oppresion.
 
Youre right, nothing has been done. Its just a a ceasefire. And its been a while since I saw it, but was neo REALLY shown next to the oracle and them? If I remember correctly they just kind of 'knew' he died.
 
a - alive I think.
b - Part of the matrix
c - Is that the little girl? Well she controls the weather in the Matrix, and that's why it was raining/flooding when Neo and Smith were fighting, because Smith took control of her.
d - I think the machine was all screwed up and the EMP is in a different part of the ship, and he wanted to be peaceful, not attacked.
e - He's a virus.

a. dead. He died shortly after defeating Smith
b. Matrix. That whole scene showed that the Matrix has the power to start over if it wanted to(IMO).
c. Sati is supposedly the next Oracle(again, IMO).
d. Because that would not have stopped the AI from attacking Zion, only alert them to his presence. He went to 001 to propose a peace and end the war.
e. Like Dodge the Viper mentioned, he is a virus and was able to modify himself after breaking free of the system. He also had a connection to Neo(IMO).

I'm probably wrong on some of this, but I like to think that it is just my personal opinion. Don't take it for factual.
