.....$ 2.75 Million. What can you buy with this sum?
Back in 2012's Scottsdale auction, that's how much this one-off cost:
This is considered one of the most exclusive, and not to mention valuable, post-war Bentleys ever created.
Created for the 1947 Paris motor show, by Franay of Paris, it won a few awards in the same year.
After its success in Concours circuit, the car went into private hands in the 50s - to a certain Mr. Gudol - who retrofitted a larger 4.5l motor for extra oomph.
However, as is the story for most classic cars, it became a neglected, rotting hull as it changed hands SIX times before Mr. Gary Wales bought it in 1979.
By the late 80s, Mr. Wales had amassed a sizeable collection of records and photos to help him on his daunting task of restoration. By 1991, it was done, and guess what, it was the hit of every major concours it attended. Won a stack of trophies, in fact.
50 trophies, in total. Yup, that's a LOT of awards....and a place in the record books.
What's interesting is that, some of the old records say its interior is covered in....frog skin. Dunno where the French could locate that many frogs to cover the upholstery, but whatever....
Unfortunately, I couldn't locate a solid info on the power specs. Nor whether it still has that 4.5 or the original motor from Mark VI.
