The Geneva motor show traditionally attracts a broad church of exhibitors, from the biggest motor-makers in the world to one-man-band entrepreneurs who simply have something to show. Today, Italian styling specialists Bertone, a company from somewhere midway between those two extremes, issued a picture of the car it will wow the Swiss crowds with – and this is it.

The company is keeping any and all details about the concept car close to its chest until the unveiling at Geneva's Palexpo centre. However you can tell even from this picture that the car will be a front-engined, two-seat, highly compact roadster with a wrap-around windscreen.

Autocar's sources have suggested that underneath the car lie the same mechanicals as Fiat's Panda and forthcoming 500. Although that information has yet to be confirmed by Bertone, there is precedent to back it up; Bertone has a long history of styling and coachbuilding with Italy's biggest car-maker, and that history includes a one-off Barchetta version of the original Fiat 500, which was made in 1947 for Nuccio Bertone himself.
