Besides the Dakar, what are the other important rally raids?

With the unfortunate of missing the 2008 Dakar, not much has been said about the Raid championship. I was wondering, what are some of the other important rally raids?

So far i have found

1. Rallye des Pharaons (1981-2007)



2. Baja España Aragón (1983-1991) (1992-2007)

Here's another event worth a mention and could become a grand event in the future maybe event to the ranks of the Paris-Dakar.

The TransSyberia Rally



I]Although the route changes year to year, the TransSyberia Rally has been deemed the ultimate challenge for off-road racing enthusiasts. This year's TransSyberia Rally stretches from Moscow, Russia to the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar. Participants are in the for the experience of a lifetime as the 6,600 kilometer route crosses the Ural Mountains, winds through subarctic forests and goes up the rugged peaks of the Altai Mountains. The endurance of both man and machine are tested as the route continues across the sprawling Mongolian plains and through the Gobi Desert. [/I]

Porsche is a huge sponsor of the event and even make a purpose built Cayenne for the event. It's a project similar to the 953 and 959 Dakar winners for them.
