Best 3D model rendering program?

The reason I asked is because there are so many out there. I already have 3D Studio MAX R4. It's a little too much for my system to handle. I don't really want to make models, I just want to render models I download from the net. Is there a program out there that will just render models (preferably 3DS and MAX formats)? Or do I need to get the "whole package" software like 3D Studio? If so, which one?
 
Oh man, Zmodeler couldn't import any of my 3ds files. Thanks for the ideas MistaX and gt2_gs.
 
I am having trouble installing 3ds Max please help.

You should also consider Bryce 5 or Lightwave. They are decent programs and run on just about any system.
 
The only problem is that you can't import 3D Studio Max programs with them.
 
Are there any converters that change one file to another?

If i recall correctly, Rhino3d imported Max, and you could save it as LWO, i did that for some one once.....
Wait, he gave me some weird file Zmod opend, then i saved it as max and opened it in Rhino3d.....
Btw i cant find a direct converter

I think I'm begining to like Rhino 3D. But, one problem. I can get my 3DS models to load and render, but the textures will not load. How do I get them to load and render with the model?
