Just wondering, before I race, what car in your opinion would be best for the American Championship. I was thinking of buying the Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II Test Car but didn't know if it was the best. Help please?

You could also go with one of the Dodge Vipers but I think the RM ZR1 would be your best option for that event. 👍

Agreed.
For straight line speed though the Viper ACR is very fast! but lacks in the corners, not good handling.
But overall it has to be the ZR1 RM.

Corvette ZR1 RM like many others have said, or you could use a Nascar (if you've won one already from the Nascar Special Event). If you do get a ZR1 RM, lookup the SailIC (I might have spelled his username wrong) tune in the tuning section, talk about a recipe for success.

the callaway c12 sounds and drive beastly
but for fun its the
all ford gt's
ford gt40 mk2 (Gulf)
ford gt40 mk4
they all drive and sound amazing
and PD please add a premium street gt40

That tune for the ZR1 is a dream. It won me Like the Wind.

Ive tested all the american cars that would stand a chance in that event and the ford gt lm spec II and its test car counterpart are the best as they put in the fastest laps and theyre dead easy to drive, theres not even a need to break with them on indy, the race modded ZR1 isnt too far behind it but with no tweaking it has to break for the turns.

The zr1 is a great choice but the 2j is a wild car if your willing to troll the ucd and spend some serious $$$

I would have to say that the Team Oreca Viper mops the floor with the Ford Gt...I've run a 3:38.xxx at Indy and low 42sec laps if I remember...I have a replay and I can check tomorrow morning...My Ford fully tuned can't come within 10sec of the 5 lap total...The price is far steeper than the Rm Vette though at just shy of a mil.

Did the Panoz Esperante GTR Road Car make it into this game? I know it was in one of the past GT games...

I used the Buick Special with some upgrades for this.

EDIT: Just checked and sadly only the race car made it to GT5. Bummer.

I love the Panoz Esperante. Not a great looking car but it sounds cool and handles well I think. But yeah the RM ZR1 is awesome.
