Hey guys. I was just thinking and I wondered what you guys thought. Im new(8 days) to drifting and have been practicing hard. Im getting decent. Im using an AE86(mostly), a ZZII, and a Supra. Thats the cars ive been practicing with mostly. I was just wondering what everyone thought was the BEST car for starting out? It will be interesting to hear everyones opinion and see what everyone has to say about this ^_^ also.....what do you think would be a good "next step" car? Im getting decent with these cars. Im wanting to move up a step. Any thoughts? Im looking forward to seeing what people think!

the first car I got pretty decent at drifting with was the RX-7 RZ. I only had a few mods, suspension, brakes, transmission stuff, LSD, and some sim tires. I got tired of driving 300hp or so cars (cause most courses have long straights and I love going fast hehe) so I maxed the HP and got some grippier tires and the car was still awesome. Now I drift pretty much anything, but the RX-7 is still the easiest for me.:)

Yeah, i use the corvet grand sport too, i'm pretty good at it, but i got a long ways to go to. I took off the ASM and TCS, worked a little better, but since i'm out of the game for a while (grounded) all i can do is hypothisise about what i can do different

once you get good with Cudaman's setup, you should be able to drift any car... then learn to make your own settings... but in my opinion, use Cudaman's S13 or FC.

with the corvette there is a special trick to braking drifts, you start a feign drift, brake, and about halfway through the braking process stop turning, that will induce a four wheel drift.

heres a link to a replay of my early days of racing and tuning, back when i didn't know of any way to turn but to drift https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15175

^it also contains the various settings i went through and some decent advice

I agree. After learning on Cudaman's FC, I found myself able to drift just about anything with power to at least the rear wheels. Sim tires require learning proper brake drifting, and tend to be sensitive to light feint drifting, which makes them a challenge to get used to, but more useful for learning on. :D

the first car i used to start drifting is the FD. that car has great power and very good conering ablity. i have tons of fun drifting around in that car. the FC is also good, almost the same as FD but slower. Maybe the FC wont be a bad start.

If the beginner has a ZZII, then they should start out with that. If they want to start out with something affordable and that is known for drifting, then get the FC RX-7. Otherwise, I think the Skyline is the best car to drift :)

i say start with a car that has relatively low hp like anywhere from 200-400. once you can drift with a lower hp car, drifting with any car wont be too hard.
