Hey guys, my first post so let me know if i missed some pinned threads somewhere i wasn't aware of.

I got GT5P on Tuesday with my PS3 and and really enjoying it. I cruised through the single player getting golds on all races except for a couple of time trials which seem VERY hard to get, but i tried online and realised what a different class a few guys are in!

I want to compete better as well as have a more realistic experience, so i'm looking for a good steering wheel and pedals setup to go with my PS3 for around about £120. This is my limit as i work as a part time landscaper and it doesn't pay too well.

Anyways, thanks for any replies you can give me guys!

To be honest the Logitech Driving Force GT wheel is probably fine and is the wheel designed specifically for GT5P. I have had the older one (the DFP3) for a couple-three years with no issues, but I guess a lot of people used to have trouble with the pedals failing if they stomped on them too hard so you'd want to be careful of that.

From there, the price jumps up a *lot* to the G25, which has much better pedals and wheel, but kind of poor feel to the shifter apparently. Basically, if you want a clutch and gated shifter, this is what you'd want, but if you plan to use the paddle shifters anyway, you may be better off with the adjustability of the DFPGT for about 1/3 of the price.

There is also nothing wrong with the DFP (Driving Force Pro), if you want to go even cheaper. It isn't quite as refined, but it is still a good wheel and can be had new in the US for under $100 if you look around a little.

i wanna buy the DFGT, im in the UK what websites can i buy it from that ship to UK and what stores or online stores sell it in the UK? i have looked everwhere!

If you wait a little bit, I'll post a desing stand.. (by me) ..not ready yet, but I'll get there... (Catia V5)

And, is it ready yet ?

:trouble: :p

edit:

Btw Kojaimea,

i wouldn't exactly call 120 pounds 'budget' ;)
Especially if you can fit the upcoming DFGT

lol... I promise, I'll make it as good as I can.. but it takes a while still... :ouch:

edit: I'm on holiday now, but for this I'll spend a few days at work and desing for you (and me too!) a stand (steel).. BOM included of course. :)

And for a stand, go home-made. Best value, by far.
I couldnt agree more, here is a link (if i can work HTML right, i'm used to BB code) to the car i made myself a good 10 years ago when i was playing F1 '98 as Damon Hill in his Jordan :D

Just one more question. The G25 that people are saying is the best wheel available, is that £150 including pedals or just for the wheel?

You arent wrong on the stand part. Here is my "stand" made about 10 years ago now to play F1 '98 on the PS1 with! Shame its been demoted to the back room as something to store stuff in :(

One last question, is the G25 for £150 including pedals or just the wheel and gear lever?

Is that a PSOne Gamester rumble steering wheel I see there  I still have mine too - God knows why though!?

Well, on the continent the g25 all-in trades owner for a litle over 200 euro's.
So i guess that the 150 pound includes the pedals (to be honest, i am not aware of g25's delivered without pedals.
