Minneapolis, U.S.A., Dec 20, 2011 (Thomson Reuters ONE via COMTEX) -- Multi-channel Retailer to Activate New Partnership for 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Season

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 20, 2011 - Best Buy Co., Inc. BBY +1.46% today announced a new sponsorship deal for the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Season. Best Buy will serve as primary sponsor of Carl Edwards' No. 99 Ford for two races and the Matt Kenseth No. 17 Ford for nine races. In addition, Best Buy will serve as associate sponsor for each.

"Best Buy is thrilled to announce this new NASCAR sponsorship deal with Roush Fenway Racing," said Drew Panayiotou, senior vice president of marketing for Best Buy. "Roush Fenway Racing is a great fit for Best Buy Racing. NASCAR continues to be a relevant way for us to connect with our customers. Oh wow, Kenseth will have a name on his hood for a whopping 9 races! *sarcasm*

Roush needs to fire/hire or do SOMETHING with the person who's in charge of getting money for his cars, because he/she is doing a terrible job. Two talented Nationwide drivers running white cars, unable to re-negotiate current sponsors into staying/keeping longer contracts etc. I know we're in a recession, but this is foolish when you have MUCH smaller teams that are at least able to put some kind of name on the hood. If the alternative is either take less money or no money... why on earth would you take no money?
