I'd like to know also. Let's say... any car, any tuning, any tires, etc. At... Indy Road Course.

For Indy and Le Mans definately something like a Maxda Eunos Roadster (premium one). It has great BHP for a PP limit at low range. As for very tight tracks, try something like a Daihatsu Copen Active Top '02.

I have an Elise that seems to put down quick lap times. It's naturally 400PP.

But, with power limiters and ballast, I'm sure people could build quicker cars.

I really like tuning lower powered cars. I will have to update this post when I get home and let you know some of my descent cars around that PP range.

For tighter tracks (like Autumn Ribg Mini) try the Suzuki Cervo. If you tune it right its corners like nothing else.

400pp mazda AZ-1? i think thats what its called.high end turbo and custom tranny, the massive rev range is a joy

I'm gonna thrown out the Mazda Kusabi for consideration.

I tried several cars for a 400PP race and none would lap as quick as this one. In the race I was consistently half a second faster than everybody. Not sure how it would do on long straights, since the track we were racing was a kart track with short straights.

I second this.

Cervo is really lovely to drive especially around Rome in the Seasonal.

On a short tight track like a cart track try my Daihatsu Cuore/Mira TR-XX tune. It eats corners for lunch! Several of the other Kei cars mentioned will also outcorner anything except race cars that have insane amounts of downforce. The Cuore/Mira is currently the fastest car by a wide margin in the Lightweight K Cup seasonals and even restricting them down to 400 will still have more HP and Torque than a lot of other cars at that PP.

Note: On tracks with medium to long straights the Kei cars can't generally keep up because they top out between 130-140 mph generally (Properly geared on a really long straight say ssr7 or La Sarthe you might go a bit faster but they'll take forever to get there as they lose acceleration above 110-120 mph.)

^^Tuning forum. There should be a sticky with every tune ever made. Welcome to the forum, slitherhead!

Daihatsu Copen is my favorite.

Go pick up the Suzuki Cervo SR or the Daihatsu Copen from the premium dealership. I have setups for both in the tuning forum (Look for Dragon's Tuning Thread!) and with a little less upgrades you can easily get either car up to 400pp, with potential for a lot more ^_^

I used the BMW 120i, GT-86 with power limiter, the BMW you need to tune it up abit though, it's really nice to drive

Swift is nice (both premium ones).
Suzuki Concept S2 is a superb drive too (max tuned 491pp btw).

Mazda MX-5´s are a good choice too. Well balanced weight and good power to weight ratio.

I think the Honda Beat is the best Kei-Car but maybe that´s just my opinion (160kph at the seasonal Eifal Track all used to gain money :D).

For downtuned Cars:
Toyota FT-86 Concept
Toyota 86 ´12
=> I love them. They are soo awesome to drive, would like to have one in real-life *dream*

I had used the Mazda Atenza Premium car in the race. I did weight reduction, full race suspension, and areo parts. Had to de-tune the motor to match 400PP. I had the car on comfort mediums. The best I got was 4 seconds off first place. Had to upgrade the tires to get first place tho.

Assuming sports tires, I'm a big fan of the Toyota MR2, all of them. They'll require a little taming but have plenty of speed and amazing turn-in.

+👍
MR2 won't take too much tuning to reach 400pp cheap to run & maintain ;)
MR2 G-LIMITED supercharged 88 its a little monster tuned 400pp or 500pp:yuck:

The Toyota 86 GT '12 is quite nice. I grabbed one, fully tuned everything on it - Weight Reduction Stage 3, etc. - then played around with settings to get it at a nicely balanced 400pp. I added ballast, but put it to the rear so I ended up with an 1196Kg car with 50/50 weight distribution. Very little aero downforce on the rear, none on front, all power mods but power turned down to around 50% (may have to remove the ECU tuning and racing intake to get it down to 400pp), power peaks at around 3500rpm and stays flat nearly 'til redline.

Really wonderful 400pp car on any track I've tried. As an added bonus, you can easily have a 500pp tune for it as well, and save both to your settings. I used the 500pp tune to just go and beat up the Japanese Championship in A-spec. :)
