Well, wanted to create this topic again. Post your thoughts. Here's peoples opinions from the old board.

-2002 Z06
-Camaro SS Suped Up

And what I was thinking of buying.

-1998 Supra TT
-A newer Skyline
-Used NSX (are those any good?)

And a question...

Could I find a Shelby Cobra for around that price? Yeah, it may not smoke some of the newer cars, but it's a classic, and I love classic cars.

do you want rice power, or american muscle(not trying to be racist, thats their name). I think thats the main question here.

I dunno...

I've been liking Supras for awhile now. And after I saw the one on Fast and the Furious it made me like them even more.

If I would get the Supra I'd probaly make it look like the one on Fast and Furious except make it black or red or blue. www.suprastore.com has tons of **** for sale and has everything to make it look like the one in the movie. The knights on the side, the awesome spoiler.. etc. etc.

I have a good friend who runs an auto shop so I'd be able to get these parts installed on my car for pretty damned cheap.

After I make it look more pimp, and I get older, than I'll consider added more horses to it. Although I probaly won't be racing it. I'm not really into that sorta thing yet, but I guess once I get the car it'll be hard to turn down challenges.

I live in a pretty small town of about 150,000. The only good cars I've seen here are Honda Preludes, Camaro Z28s (maybe like 1 SS), and a few Firebird Trans Am. Unless they have some serious **** tuned up in there, I think I'll be able to smoke 'em and be the talk of the town. Hehe, jk... :p

Well, due to lack of information, such as whether you plan to modify, the condition of the roads where you live, and such, it is difficult to give a really useful choice, but I would consider these vehicles. First though is I think you should plan for a car a few grand under what you think the final price will be.

If it were up to me I would consider among new vehicles: 3 series BMWs, Pontiac Trans Am, Mercedes C-Class Sports Coupe.

i will refuse to help if you are even considering taking a SPORTS car like a SUPRA and then putting cosmetics that add SOOOO much horsepower  and then on consider puting $$$ into proformance, if i were you buy a honda so that way you can bolt on more stuff, geeeeeeeeeeze

I'd say buy something that might come out to about $35-40,000 altogether, so you'd still have some cash to pimp out your car

i'd really stay away from a used RX7. sure, they're badass cars, but when you push a 1.3 rotary engine to around 250hp it puts a good deal of strain on it. i've heard nothing but bad stories about people buying RX7s with around 70k miles on them only to find that they need to put over $3000 in engine work into them. doesn't seem worth it to me.

so a great car for under $50k? that's pretty much up to you, you have tons of options. best bang for the buck? Z06, of course. luxury your thing? there's always the bmw 5 series. really though, once you pass up the $30k mark your options really open up.

i only wish i was in your position. right now i'm saving for a down payment on a car for my graduation. i'm deciding between a 97-98 maxima or a 97-99 prelude SH

Going on safety, handleing and stock performance, definatley the Subaru Impreza WRX(MY00).
But for outright performance.
I'd have to say... My 1970 Ford Cortina GT when I get it souped up with a CYBER motor sports bodykit, flat six engine, twin KKK turbos, a front mounted intercooler big enough to suck in wedge tailed eagles, and so low you cant even fit a $50 note under it!!! NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN 'BOUT YO!!!!
RUF666:cool:
