Could anyone tell me what the best cars are for "Boxer Spriit" races? I am using B-Spec mode not A-Spec.

I have tried and tried but I always seen to lose. Come 2nd or worst. Due to my tires slipping.

I know this isn't the point of your thread, but why don't you give A-Spec a try? It's not a particulary hard race, if I remember.

I think I used a cheap used Subaru Impreza (with some mods), by the way.

one of my fav. cars in the game. the RUF BTR '86.

it cost a lot of money if you are just starting out in the game but it will outrun just about anything they throw at you, including "the yellow bastard" RUF CTR '87. with just a little tuning of course.

you can even B-spec this if you are so inclined. personally i think the subaru produces too much understeer once the HP is pumped up to catch the yellow bird.

You sound like my friend. He's nearly 60% complete, but he's done it all in B-Spec, the only A-Spec miles he has, are the ones I did to complete his Special Conditions Hall for him when I was bored. B-Spec for anything other than the 24hrs (cause some people have lives) and to make money, is more gay than stickin rolls of quarters up your pooper. I mean, whats the point of even having the game if your gonna let it complete itself?

But to answer your question, I used an RUF, over kill I know, but it was the only boxer engine car I had at the time, but any used Subaru will do if your looking for a budget car.

Not hard? Well, with that RUF against you, it's hard. Well, if you run it with a stock Impreza, just like me. Didn't have a chance.:p Then I tuned it, and I won.:)

The thing is i'm ok at A-Spec but I will try it a bit more.

Every car I need to race with I always but in everything in it. Full power capable, light weight, etc.

Could that be why I am not able to win that race?

I tried the RUF CTR2 '96.

I used the Subaru Impreza rally edition with upgraded turbo. Won no trouble.

A-spec with the CTR2, especially modded, should be quite easy. If it isn't then you need to learn the tracks better.

Well I can't come first on the1st race but I have got Gold for the other 2 races.

HELP?

I would say use the Imprezza Rally Car. I know it will probly run away with the races, but if the RUF is in the races, you should be up for a challenge.

I loved using my modded '99 STi type R coupe with like 9F/7R deg. of neg. camber. You can get it up to 500HP & ~1100 Kilos with allthe mods & an oil change. It absolutely shreads ultra tight turns with soft R compounds on the tarmac special condition events! :D

Congrats man! What car did u use? I want to go back and race that series again. It was pretty fun.

used some kinda impreza....not a rally car...agghh..not sure at all.

I used a full-HP Prodrive Impreza. It would have been pretty tough if they were one lap races, but they weren't :D
It was one of those races I just did to get it out of the way, I'll go back for decent Aspec points later.

I think if you run and win the Special Condition race series at Costa di Amalfi (Normal), you'll be able to use the car I won and used here, the Subaru Impreza Rally Car 2001 Prototype. I knew I made a 118 A-Spec upset at Hong Kong using this machine. Since this rally car is a race car, you'll be able to modify any settings available for it, ranging from suspension to transmission. Also since it is a race car, you know its capabilities are much different from that of an average street car. I think the race requires Standard or Sports tires, so if you haven't done so already, get those tires. I recommend Sport tires, but if you're low on money, get the Standard Tires. They come free of any charge, so don't be afraid to get these Standard Tires if you're low on finances.

Now if you want a Boxer engine car with a little more get-up-and-go, I challenge you to run the "Race of Pleaides" Championship Series in Subaru's One-Make Race hall. If you win the championship, you get a more powerful, road-friendly race car (which can still be fitted with Dirt and Snow tires, per your request). Again, don't forget those Standard and/or Sport tires.

So if you want a car with a Boxer engine and low on money, go Subaru. If you want to splurge and you have the dough to back it up, pull into the Ruf showroom and get you a Ruf. I'd probably recommend the Ruf RGT.

On the track, just make sure you drive carefully and efficiently. I believe that a Boxer engine is completely horizontally-opposed, so a car can have an engine this small, yet provide such sufficient and effective performance. Just ask Subaru and Porsche. So why not enjoy the Boxer Engine for yourself? Win those races for GTPlanet, Sonu!

I used a tuned RUF RGT. No problems at all.

I have never had any success driving any RUF without a VCD set way rear bias in ANY version of GT. I guess RR just isn't my thing, next to FF it's my worst config to drive.

Then again, I still blow after my thousands of hours of exp since finding GT1 in 1999.
You under 20 crowd getting all gold rips my sheets. Hats off 2U.

IMO all those LM-ish rally cars are not as light or as nimble as weight reduced street conterparts. Maybe it's just me but even in GT3 I drove way better in a properly set (& expensive to mod) street evo or impreza. In GT4 I trip on how great my Imp is, (sedans only in GT3) cause it WAS NOT as good in GT3 or earlier. With heavy RWD bias and massive neg. camber, it shreads. The 22B in this game comes with about the same weight and more dirty oil HP but I can't make it or any "rally car" handle like any of the street Imp cars. And the 30K cage is dope, makes the whole car. I have a car with and without in the 'gerge and the difference is not subtle. I just wish my real Imp was this tight.

All the LM and rally cars do is save you money on all those / marks on the parts.

havent done this yet... too busy trying to win the tunas series in a mild tune rx7.

I will prolly use a 3400s tho.

When you get the Option Z go back with 200 balast and shread the field- it's fun to gloat.

I REALLY want to try this cup with the VW Bug or Karman Ghia :D

If you simply want to win, and don´t bother with a challange, go win the Impreza touring car from the Subaru events and race that in Boxer spirit.

I used the 2003 Impreza Rally Car. Its got superb handling on road surfaces.

i used the ruf CTR 2 it still a challenge with his car i race it standard

I used the RUF CTR2 '96, with all upgrades except turbo.

If the RUF wasn't in there Id probably just use a normal Imprezza with a few mods, but that damn thing forces me to use the Imprezza touring car.

I rocked up to this race in a Spec C Sti, about 520hp, I'm pretty sure it was fully tuned. I was expecting to be up against modded Rufs so with my fully modfied car I just walked away from absolutely everything, even the Yellow Bird.
After beating it once I did the whole series again in a stock YB and while for 1 race I wasn't up against another YB, the races when I was ensured some pretty tight battles.
