Definatley the Nissan R35 GTR. It got me through all B-class, because you also need it for a time trial, and got me through the hard races in A-class. It is also a bargain at around 60-70k i think, and still the best car ive driven.

I've completed nearly all the courses in class B now with my recently-purchased Driving Force Pro (what a ride!). However, the one course I'm stuck on is the single lap beat-all-18 cars. I've managed to get up to about 8th, but I can't seem to get any higher. I'm really starting to hate the high-speed track now ;-). The car I can use is fixed, so it must be down to driving. Can any of you pros offer a n00b a few tips?

Slipstream!!! Remember this word until you die, in racing world this is one of the keywords to pass others, in the one lap magic races it's the only keyword. :P

Oh right. But will it really give THAT much of a boost? How far back does the slipstream extend?

How do you guys know this stuff??!! ;-) Maybe I should RTFM.

It really does give that much of a boost believe it or not, as far as it extends I am not 100% sure. I do remember a license test in GT4 though where you needed to draft a car on the oval test track, both cars were slow as hell, and the lead car was way out there, and staying in line with him even though he was so far out, you are able to catch up, so drafting plays a huge role.

no, no ,no :)

you just need to listen very well and when the wind stops you're in his slipstream. In a turn it lies a bit into the turn, on the straights it's wright behind him, pretty far extended as the speed increases...

Just wanted to say that last night, I broke the wheel and peddles out again and gave the 1-lap 16 cars B-class race a go again. Slipstreaming it worked a treat!!! Thanks so much guys. That was the ticket.

Also, I did notice that you can hear when you enter the slipstream. Very very nice addition by PD there.

GT5P is by far the best driving game I have ever played. I can't wait for GT5 itself.

Is there any way to turn of the HUD? I want REALISM!

Oh, and my 2p's worth for the OP: The Nissan R35 GTR is awesome. Got me through all of B-class ;-). A-class here we come!!
