best car for GT All Stars series. Need help

I am having a bit of trouble with the Gran Turismo All Stars series. Now, I consider myself to be an above average GT player (been playing the series since day 1), and I have a pretty good stable of cars: Enzo, Veyron, Ford GT, Yellowhat GT-R race car, etc. The Yellowhat GT-R is the only real race car I have, but I have a lot of really fast cars. Just having some trouble doing well in this series. The competition is tough, what with the 787B and the like. Can anyone recommend a car for me? I feel like I have the skills, just not the right car. Or I suppose there's always the possibility that I'm just not good enough, but I feel like I've pretty much aced all the other games in the GT series, and I've done very well so far in GT5, so... maybe I just suck, but I think more likely, I just need a better car. Do I just need to spend more on a better race car? Any advice would be appreciated.
 
I just aced it with five golds using the Toyota Minolta I got from completing the "like the wind" section in a-spec. Had no problems whatsoever. I did (as always) get an oil change first, then add any upgrades (two turbo upgrades to total 1050 Horsepower. Fun car to drive.
 
I did it in a Carbon R with racing softs and an oil change. I always figured it was a stupid drift car but it was actually a lot of fun (though a little too easy).
 
You will probably need an LMP, group C car. The easiest way to get one is by doing the like the wind extreme event, which you can do using the Mazda Furai won in the B-spec mazda roadster cup. You will be rewarded with a Toyota 88C-V which will beat GT-all stars pretty easily.

It IS possible to do with a corvette ZR1 RM fully upgraded, but you will have to drive very well.

The minolta is a good car, and you should be able to win the event without to much trouble.
You can win this car by completing "Like the wind' event, if you can beat that event. If you can't, then i would suggest buying the corvette for race modification, there is a thread somewhere here on the site with an excellent setup.

Won the event without any problem. I won like the wind first, and then used the minolta for the gt all star series.:sly:

Just wait untill you get thr X1 or FGT.
 
First Complete Like the Wind using a mazda furai, you will be rewarded with a toyota minolta......once u got that you will be on your way.


you have to tweak your furai by dropping the downforce all the way and transmission 380-400km

I love that machine. A shame the colors' Green...
 
I have an SLS with most of the work done to it and some slight tuning on my part. It has a wing and about 750 HP. The downforce is set on 30 with racing mediums on it and I won the All Stars event pretty easily. Depends on the driver too. Hope this helped!
 
Furai would be first choice, just do like others said and max out downforce and adjust transmission.

If you don't have one of those the ZR1 RM will do the trick, but it's extremely tough to do.

The easiest way is to use the Minolta, that you win in "Like the Wind"
 
I was having trouble with that so I waited until I had an x2010 and just golded them all with ease lol
 
The easiest way to know what car to buy is to look at what your opponents are and who is winning the race. Just buy that car. For the particular race in question, I believe a Nissan R89 race car or a Peugot 905 are tops. I used a Nissan R89 and won easily.

The opponents are almost always running stock so even adding a turbo mod to give you an extra 100 hp makes a big difference.
