well... i have completed about 30% of the game and raced one endurance race and won Polyphony 001 F1 car... the point is this...

the threads talking about "best car in the game" people say there all kinda cars... mazda767, GT1, GT One race car.... and so on... BUT!!! my opinion IS that the formula 1 cars are best all around cars!! i haven't lost any race with my polyphony... raced amateur league and some of professional league...

so forget all those race cars and drive with formula...

or do someone have something to complain about this fact...?!??!? :odd:

Welcome to GTP, Lazy.

If you do a search you should find abouat an' squillion threads on this very subject!

The only thing I don't like about the F1 is that you can't buy Super-Slicks and you can't buy speccy rims. :grumpy:

Yes, I do believe they are the best car in the game on the racetracks, only track in which they are beaten easily is the Test Course. ;)

If you remove all downforce you can come to within about 10 km/h of the GT1 and GT-One race cars, draft them up and down the track.

Aye, but there's no competition in it for the Escudo you know ;)

well then... can someone tell me F1 car weakness..?
Strongpoints, VERY good acceleration, super cornering... ummmm... what else do you need... :D
weakness... hmmm... maybe top speed... but don't matter most of the tracks... and over 350 km/h isn't that bad.... :p

Tyre wear and straight line speed - that's about it.

It depends if you want to just kill the game, or if you want to do some racing.

In that case, if you want close racing, you don't want to use an F1. :dopey:

Well all I have to say is that I'v had the game for 2 years now I'v done everything but the last TT(Dam Complex string), and I'v only used the F1 cars on the F1 race,or in the endu races, after I'v beating them with reg or race cars first. I think that using the F1 cars for anything else is taking the cheap way out, but thats just my opinion.

The weakness is that driving an F1 car to beat races will teach you nothing about how to drive.

I was past 75% before I won my first F1 car. Even then I never drove it. Then, one day, after spending an hour with three different regular race cars and a variety of setups. I was trying to shave about 1 second off my lap time at R246.

So, just as a joke, I tried my first-ever lap in an F1 car, and cut 13 seconds off my lap like that. The second lap was more like 17 seconds faster. Then I parked it, because it was destroying the fine touch and practice I had been building up in the regular racers.

Using an F1 car against anything but other F1 cars is shortchanging yourself and your game experience. There is no need to learn how to drive when even the worst driver in an F1 can put the regular field multiple laps down in a 5 or 10 lap race. Yes, you're beating the game, but you're not winning it. And you'll be hopeless in OLR competition.

The only time it makes sense is if you are trying to get a particular prize from a series you've already won in a regular car and just need to complete it as quickly as possible.

Who needs superslicks on the F1, it already has twice the grip and handling prowess of any other car in the game. I agree though that it can remove a lot of the enjoyment and competitive edge from the game (unless you define enjoyment as lapping the whole field over the course of a 5 lap race)... on the other hand if it's a real challenge you're looking for, try souping up a Vitz and racing in the Dream Car Championship!!!

Super slicks being the slipperiest of the racing tires; I believe he was looking for less grip not more.

or more durability, pitting every 6 or so laps is a pain in the backside in anybodys language

You dont see F1's in R/L pitting that frequently do you?

I don't know about that to be honest. I can get my GT-One (fully tuned with 1350 hp)) up to almost 280 mph, but I can only get my F094/S to about 235 mph, even with taking all downforce off. Even the F686/M can only get up to 240 mph. Look here for the exact speeds :)

True but if the tires in real life actually gave you that much traction they would have to pit every 6 laps.
