Best car to start with?!

I have a PTCruiser, just looking for something else. I am only half-way through the beginner league, on the Stars and Stripes series technically. I cannot beat that series, no matter how hard I try and how much I practice and concentrate. That's only part of my problem.

The PT has too much power in it for a FF I think. I have a stage 2 turbo in it and it takes the corners very difficultly, no matter how much you deaccelerate. I would get the miata, but I dont have the money.

So what then should I do, just keep racing different tracks where I got the golds or try to get some of the prize cars in the licenses. If it all comes down to that, I guess I will do it, but it really is a pain in the cheeks for me. <----- :mad:
 
well... seriously, the PT is not the best car i would start with, but with your cornering problem, get the suspension upgrade, i think the first one is good enough for your level
and then adjust the car as needed for each track
 
I have the full-customizable suspension kit. I lowered the car, along with stiffening up the springs. The kit was 16k, and the best in the tune shop. I have a racing fly-wheel, and T2 Super Slicks. What else is there to do but get a new car, the PT is just not gettting any farther.
 
try to see if you are good enough to get all golds for the first license. the prize car is a miata. its a good car to start with. if you dont think its possible to get all golds and your not too far into the game, just start over and get a miata.

i think the miatas are very good cars. its light and rwd. it can handle more power without trouble.
 
The two most outrageous cars to start with are:

1) Panoz Esperante from winning time trial FIRST. Damn, i don't know of anyone who actually did this, but it theoretically would work. You'd just fly by all of beginner and most of intermediate with it. Or you could just sell it for big $$$.
2) Mistsu Lancer Evo V (or is it IV?...i dunno). It's a great car. Handles great...lots o' pwr...great for beginner league and it will get a fair portion in intermediate.
 
i got the esperante first, haha. that car is awesome. although i picked up the miata from the b license because didnt want it to be TOO easy.
 
Well, as I've said in other threads, I started with a Miata, which I re-stock-ified to run the Miata enduro. It's a good starter car because the RWD platform can handle some power.

I wouldn't start over, but what have you run? There should be some RWD cars available as prizes in the early days. Did you sell them off? If so, don't spend any more on the PT. Run races you can win, and really practice your driving skills. Save up about 30,000 cr and buy a second-gen Miata and some T2 slicks. Then run the roadster enduro, and pit for Fresh tires every 12-15 laps. That will win it for you because the fast cars pit so much that you will beat them. You'll find that 40 laps on the same track really lets you get into a rhythm that you don't get in a 5-lap sprint.
 
thats true. if you really suck, doing the miata enduro, or trying to ace all b licenses should help you get better.

I did get a Toyota and Vitz prize car, dunno what kind of drivetrain they are, but I sold them off. I cannot beat the Stars and Stripes in begginer. And if I did buy a Miata, couldn't I just use the T2 Super Slicks on my PT?
 
Miata, then Z06, then F1 was my road ;)
