Best car under 400PP for World Compact Race?

I've been trying to complete the World Compact Car seasonal but I can't beat the Nurburgring. I've been using a Hommel Berlinette with 399PP but I still finish 9 seconds behind the leader. What did everyone else use for this?

I prefer the Mini Cooper S '07 for compact races at 400PP. Many would prefer the VW Golf GTi '01
