As the title say's, what cars are best suited for racing between 400 - 450pp? I have a race modded cappuccino already any other suggestions?

Lotus Elise 96, Caterham Fireblade, Suzuki Cappuccino, Daihatsu Mira Avanzato tr-xx

Coincidentally I was offline tuning a couple of cars last night in that range. The Hommel Berlinetta seemed pretty quick.

Are you talking about stock cars that are between 400-450pp? If so then I'd say any Elise is the best.

If you're talking about something that's been tweaked to be in that range, I'd say my Suzuki Cervo that I've got up to 421pp.

I do alot of 450PP stuff around the nurb, normally on sports hard tires. Generally speaking race cars are of limit use for PP as low as this as normally more power and less weight are more beneficial than downforce. On sports hard tires I tend to find rear wheel drive cars the best for this PP level, the front wheel drives tend to suffer substantial understeer with sports hards though this may not be the case for racing tires. My personal choice is the FC RX-7 which I have lapped around the nurburg 24 hour with sports hard in just under 10 minutes. The S2000 is a good choice aswell, along with the toyota MR-S the MR2 G-Limited, the nissan silvia S15 and as mentioned here the lotus elise.

Daihatsu Mira Avanzato tr-xx

^^this^^
The Mira is total beast and can be easily tuned for anything between 400 and 500 PP. (Note: if your having trouble locating a Mira watch for a Cuore as they are the same car.)
Only drawback is its top speed of around 135-140 mph on long straights. Will absolutely eat most others on shorter twisty tracks.

NSX, both the '91 and the '02.
If you're looking to tune anything to that range, the K-cars are pretty good on smaller twisty tracks. So is also the Elise. But all these have already been mentioned.

If you can find a Suzuki GSX R/4 in the UCD then try one of those. It will usually have between 475-500pp but can be detuned to under 410pp and will still be a monster that eats cars twice its size . The car is as nimble as they come and will win the 9hr Tsukuba,on A-spec,right out of the box! Will win the first two enduros as well with one hand on the wheel so to speak.
Best of luck in finding one though as I've only seen three in the UCD since I've been playing. I've heard that you can win one in the licenses somewhere as well.I haven't been patient enough to gold everything so I don't know where you may find one in there...Good Luck!

How about the Toyota Sprinter Trueno/Corolla Levin/GT APEX AE86? I have the Corolla, the Sprinter and the Shigeno versions and I don't know which to go for if I'm aiming for 400pp. The Shigeno starts at 434pp while the other 2 are 330pp and 350pp.

The Carolla Levin is a great car easy to tune and drive. I used one fully modified in the Supercar seasonal Eifel race. Was able to beat all the Supercars except the McLaren F1 and the R390 and they would only beat me by around 2 seconds. Fully modified (no aero) it is 474 PP so would be very easy to adjust it to a 400-450 limit.
My tune is up in the tuning forum. Garage is "Harvey Wallbanger's Cafe & Outlaw Motorsports". :)

I think the Trial Celica is in that range if stock. This is one of the best FF´s in GT.

The TRD Celica is also in that range and very nice.
Focu RS, the Premium Focus, BMW 135i, Z4 or the TT´s are also nice rides for that pp-range.

abaxas
Renault 5 turbo.

MR - light - powerful = hoot to drive.

Bit of a tank slapper on comforts though.

I tested the Renault 5 against the v6 Clio and found the Clio to be much faster when pp is equal, around the cape ring I was 3 secs a lap faster in the Clio.

Tesla Roadster. It's a slow starter, but once it's running the torque is awesome. Suffers a bit from oversteer, so add a few kilos to the front.

Just thought I'd add my opinion and give the thread a bump at the same time...

the RM'd Integra (DC5) is great to drive in the 450pp range. It handles enjoyably even with the downforce set to minimum levels...i'm usually more than just a challenge when i'm racing with it

Been running street legals as of late at 425-500pp online, but we mainly settle and run heat races at 450pp. I've noticed that the Integra Type R (DC5) '04 is the class of the field. The RSX Type-S '04 drives very similar to the Integra, but the RSX weighs an extra 100 kilos at the same PP. I just tuned a Sprinter Trueno BZ-R '98 and have found that it has an even better power to weight ratio than the Integra at the same PP, so I will like to see how quick this car is too. An option that is great for tracks with long straights (like the Indy Road Course or Spa) is the 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II '91, this car is also a blast to drive if you get a good rhythm going.

Seat Cupra is an often overlooked, but incredibly good drive, even on lower grip tyres.

A stock FT-86 always competes at that level.. Any one you choose, either of the two NCD concepts, the 86 GT '12 or the FT-86 II Concept '11, will work wonders at or below 500pp(although you will need to tune it to get it up to 500pp). Another favorite of mine is an older RX-7, '91 or newer, though maybe not as fast as the 86's.

The Pontiac Solstice Coupe is often overlooked as well, it's a great car. My go to car for 450 PP is the 2007 Mazda MX-5 though. Oh the Suzuki Swift is good for 400PP, I've beaten several Miatas, M3s(powerlimited), S2000s, Civics, Integras, and Elises with it online. The new Toyota GT 86 also seems to be a popular choice.

I actually like the new 86 GT '12, and it can be easily tuned from 400pp to over 500pp, and it's very tossable in any state of tune. It's gotten to be one of my favorite cars in the game.
