My vote for the best FWD car will have to be the JDM Honda Integra Type R (DC2). The reason is because the Integra is unbeatable in FWD class. The Honda Integra Type R (DC2) lay down 1/4 times of 14.5-14.7s stock!! Thats amazing for a 197hp 1.8L N/A car. I dont really care about the 1/4 time because the SRT4 will kill it stock so i wont say anything but if its on a track the SRT4 will lose. The Honda Integra Type R most be the best FWD car Ever!! It beats even some FR cars and AWD cars on the track, i have seen a Honda Integra Type R beating all stock cars a S2000,S15,STi, Evo V, and etc. that is amazing the ITR is so underrated I think. So what its a FWD car it is the best FWD car my choice.

I saw a video Best Motoring in the wet a S2000 vs Honda Integra Type R vs Honda Civic Type R vs Honda Prelude Type S, and a Honda Toranto (looks like an japanese verison of the accord; if im correct its accord) anyways the Honda Integra Type R destory all the cars in its league the CTR,Prelude, and Toranto. The S2000 was ahead due to rain and it being FR it could dominate the straight and corners. The Integra in one corner "Sliped" in the rain and the front was stabled but the back was sliding and he continue it like a drift! he even said "This is not a FR" . Amazing the driver of the Integra keep on saying it oversteer too much he even said "I am amazed by its oversteer at wet ground". Dont think the Honda Integra Type R dont understeer because it does but this is the first time i ever heard a FWD car "oversteered". It got second place.

Its not the extra power of the Type R its the amazing suspention!

Ford Focus RS. Im also a fan of the new Volvo R models. they are quite impressive.

Except the volvo R models are AWD... here anyway.

But I second the Focus RS, it's just not japanese so some people will ignore it :)

The best FWD car is no FWD car, IMO.

Seiously, though, I wouldn't mind a Lancer RaliArt.

Well I am not into FWD cars at all because I am into drift but I would probably have to say the Toyota Celica because it was rated one of the fastest drag cars in the world. I would next probably go with an Integra Type R. Whatever DRIFTING owns all!

'91 MR2 SW20 Turbo :D

I'm a big fan of drifting, so I can understand your enthusiasm, but you really need to chill out man. Saying "Drifting owns all" in all your posts just makes you sound like a moron.

As for the best FWD car..there isn't one, but my personal favorites are probably the Mini Cooper S like GentlemanDriver said as well as the DC2 JDM Integra Type R and the JDM Accord SIR (it's everything I wish my Accord was).

Ford Focus RS (whips a stock Impreza Turbo).
Alfa Romeo 147 GTA (insane 250hp small hatch)
Honda Integra Type-R 2003 (finally the looks match the ability)
Hartge Mini Cooper S Works ('Nuff said)
Mazda MX-3 1.8i V6... :D

Really whats the spec of the Focus RS i didnt know it beat a stock impreza turbo, like the one we have WRX non sti verison? How fast is that RS?

i agree, the itr is a great car. but i dont think you can say its greatness is because of the suspension. it is ALL of the work that is put into these "racer" cars taht make them so special. there is something about being behind the wheel of a car ON THE TRACK that was meant to be driven ON THE TRACK. its the balance, the steering, the nimblness, the confidence the car gives you......

the itr IS definately capable on the track.... but you just cant say it would be quicker than an srt4!! i hate the srt4, but you need to understand how much the driver matters in a comparison. but put an ace driver behind the wheel of both and i sadly guarantee the srt4 would be quite a bit quicker. a well balanced car goes a long way, but the srt4 just has so much power. and the neon chassis isnt ****ty enough to make the difference.

long live the car fanatics gt3 has created. its cool and all, the more the merrier, but i think i need to find a place where each and every person truly races (and understands all of the things that become apparant when you drive a car at the limit). maybe its my fault for being too lazy to find another place, just *****ing at all the kids here.... haha, nope, its too fun.

erm, id take the cooper s though......

true race cars should be RWD. i already have a car for that. a cooper s should be a sweet little street car.

I know the SRT4 is very quick exspecially with its power but dont forget the Integra Type R is also very fast on straight so what it loses to SRT at straight in the corners im sure the Type R would have the advantage i guess it depends on the track. Some track favor the SRT4 and some favore the Type R. I still think that a Old DC2 Integra Type R would beat a SRT4 with same drivers an SRT4 is quick on straights but a curcuit isnt only straight on most curcuit there are alot of tight corners which favors the type R. If you have seen the videos i seen of Type R's beating STi and S2000s at a curcuit then you will be amaze in both comparison sti and s2000 both are faster than the Type R on the straight and even faster than the SRT4 but if the s2000 loses in a curcuit to a Type R then the Type R must beat a SRT4. S2000 would corner better than SRT4 i bet so i mean its not all about power its about the perfect suspention or perfect balance, even the ITR isnt perfect but thats the closest you can get to perfection in a FWD IMO.

AGREED! Cooper is nice but rather have my ITR ;). Would be so cool if the Integra was RWD **dreaming**. But yeah race car should be RWD or AWD.

One more thing i loved Integra even before i have GT3. In GT3 the ITR is alittle bit slow on 0-400M wonder why.. not that accurate.

That's the kiddie.

It's not spectacular in a straight line - 6.2s to 60mph I heard (the stock Scooby turbo, with 230hp, is a tenth quicker), but there's a clever front differential going on with the Focus RS which means it's almost totally without understeer of any kind. On a track the Focus kills the Scooby.

But it's a bloody awful, twitchy road car. :D

How does it compare to a JDM Integra Type R. ITR also can distory a stock scooby even a tad slower compared to the STi (modified scooby) :D love that name scooby who came up with it or how did it get stuck with that name? ITs not as scary as the GT-R Godzilla :)

i was going to write a bunch of stuff, but i always confuse myself. i think on most courses an srt4 would be a tad quicker..... but who knows. i would like to meet one at a track. if i get that experience this spring i will for sure write about it.

How much does the Focus RS weigh?

Well as far as SC's I'd say the SRT-4. There fast as hell, look really sweet, and hey who can say no to a turboed Neon? Plus there cheap, 20 g's isn't bad for something that fast.

For something a little bigger, Grand Prix GTP or a Bonnie SSEi. The 3800 was one of the best GM engines built and with a Supercharger, damn those things are great. The button shifters on the GTP are fun too.

My thoughts

i have to say any of the civics besides the EP, any of the integras, but best of all of them is probally the Type R's or thr GSR.... THe best GSR is the 1992 intgra DB2 GSR aka B17a...

-Aside of my car, I'll go with the best, any FWD Honda Type-R's, they have the perfect balance on any track, and autocross.
-I got to hand it to Dodge PVO team with their SRT-4, a good straight line racer.
-And the best Euro FWDriver, I'd go with the VW GTi VR6
