I have been using a Corvette with RM and the Ford GT Spec II you win, but want a better car for the race.

I have 20m credits, level 30 A-Spec and have multiple X 1s

I am considering a 2J and Dodge Viper 51/91

Anything better?

itll be the X1 :D

Best is X1 for the dream car championship Indy grind.

Best is the Ford GT lm spec II race car or race mod Corvette Z06 09.
For the American championship many of the American races cars are similar in lap times so it is a matter of preference.

Toyota Minolta race car no doubt. Buy all the upgrades for it in tuning shop and adjust the transmition to have a very high top speed. It will pay for it's self after 1-2 races at Indy in the dreamcar championship. You can run laps with in the 38 second bracket with no draft and I know I still haven't tappe into all it's speed

ford gt spec ii gets me a bit...."aesthetically blase" as ive been using a ford gt early on in a-spec, exploiting it for over 1000 miles... i even tried beating the gran turismo all stars with it...and i failed (but suceeded with a veyron). so ill go for a 2J on that.:dopey:

why in the hell do u want to grind if u allready got 20 mill credits?

if u need XP do seasonal events, or grind 4h endurance races

i dont like duping, but its much better than autodriving indy all day long, and brainwashing

VIPER TEAM ORECA :D using #51 holds about 325 during corners (harder turns make it loose speed off course but it stock to the ground) and reach about 344-345km/h 360-370 when drafting. minimum rear downforce a bit higher downforce in the front........ beast!

Use the 3.6 million Ford GT Spec II Test Car, the premium one in the dealership.

You don't need to alter it in any way. When doing the Indy with it, the 117,000 one in the Extreme Series American Races, just do the Indy race and don't apply the brakes at any times on the 4 bends. Guaranteed win every time - 117,000 in the bag every 4 minutes or so. That's what I use, great car for this, better than the Corvette.

Ford GT Spec II Test Car, Corvette C6 RM, McLaren F1 Stealth Car, X1.. Anything that can handle at a high speed with little or no tuning. You should be fine.

This is the correct answer for grinding, if you're grinding for credits.

4 minute grind on Indianapolis > 7 minute grind on Indianapolis (or 5 minutes and change using the X1)

In the span of an hour, you'll wind up getting more races in (and more credits,) doing Indianapolis under the American series.

edit: You don't need the Premium GT car from the dealership; any comparable car should be able to run this race in about four minutes. I've done it in one of the Standard Ford GT cars, and in the Team Oreca Viper.

Just for a lark I tried the #24 Impala(actually thought someone here had recommended it for this race) and sure enough, it pretty much crushes the GTs...I put 1.5 sec on them per lap and I'm old and slow.
Basically as we all know, they slow very early and a LOT for all 4 turns...in contrast cars like the RM 'Vette and the Nascars can go full throttle all the way around or if you want to keep the tire squeal to a minumum, breath the throttle going in(I let off at the braking mark on the DL) and as long as you average 180+ in the turns and 200+ in the straights, no one can catch you. Another tip is to charge the first turn, you can easily pass all but one or two regardless of the start and frequently I pass all of them by turn 2.
There does seem to be a good bit of change from race to race and every once in a while I find someone(usually either the Chappy or one of the Orcacas) hanging with me for the first lap but once you break the draft going into 3-4..he's done :D

I have been using a NASCAR and it has veenmworking pretty well. I also got a 2J,but not faster than a NASCAR. Still looking for the Viper

+1 for the Ford GT LM Spec II TEST CAR. Make sure it's the Test Car though. The other Ford GT LM's are fine but the Test Car is the best of them. Find it in the new car dealership under the Gran Turismo dealer.

Put a set of Racing Soft tires on this tiger and it'll eat the track right up. It definitely blows away the Corvette ZR1 (C6) RM. I've been grinding Indy with this car for several weeks now and my average race completion time is 3:35 and change. Not that long for 117,000 credits.

The Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car is without a doubt the best money I've spent in the game so far.

Not sure about the OP, but I've got 20 million credits and I do it to buy more cars (new & used) then grind back up to 20 million... I'm done with all the races that I'm going to do, done with the license tests & special events, so for me it's about collecting cars and driving them now.

Panoz Esperante race car is what I use. About 3:40ish for the full race.
