I just got my wife a new iPad. I've been putting it off forever because I thought they were kind of pointless, but now that she has a 3rd shift job that is really slow at times, she might be able to put one to use.

What are the best games for the iPad?
I would like to at least see what this thing has to offer. I would like to try out the best looking games for it. I don't really care if they are free or not, I just want to tryout what the best games it offers are and see what the ipad is all about.

Angry birds. I know this an obvious choice but it's a great game. I play it all the time on my iPhone.

I've played a bunch of the iphone games. I'm looking for some of the ipad only games.

Bastion, Grand Theft Auto 3, Jet Pack Joyride, Kingdom Rush HD, Infinity Blade 2 and Mikey Shorts are all great.

SquareEnix is porting over some old Final Fantasies to iPad. So far you can grab:

Final Fantasy I (released 2010)
Final Fantasy II (Released 2010)
Final Fantasy III (released 2011)

and then you can grab their original Final Fantasy iOS title, Final Fantasy Dimensions. Granted, that title is a bit pricey, but worth it.

Real Racing 2
Trenches: Generals
Asphalt 7
Plants VS Zombies
War Pinball
Death Rally
Tiny Wings HD
Deckmake
Kung Fu Panda 2: Be The Master
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP
Samurai: Way of the Warrior
Samurai II: Vengeance HD
Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation
Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance 3 (AKA NOVA 3)
Monster Life (freemium)
Assassin's Creed Recollection (freemium)

Conquist 2 is really good. It's like the board game Risk, but doesn't take anywhere near as long since you don't have to set up pieces and whatnot. (Actually, I guess, the second Conquist is available for the iPhone (it's even on the Mac too), but the first one was iPad only. The second one only added more maps and changed some of the graphics slightly. So, to me, it's a born and raised iPad app that just happened to move to additional devices.)

Ticket to Ride is another fun board game for the iPad. There's also Real Racing 2 (which again is available for iPhone and Mac, but I still think it's worth mentioning here.)

However, one of my favorite games for the iPad is Join It. It is a jigsaw puzzle game that is iPad exclusive. You can import your own images and make puzzles anywhere from 4 pieces to 300 pieces. But the most unique thing about Join It, is that the pieces are oriented different from how they would fit in the puzzle, adding another dimension of difficulty to the game. It is also, obviously, more realistic, since in real life pieces don't magically land in the same orientation as your puzzle.

And, quick side note, I couldn't help but notice that your name is bevo, the Texas Longhorns' mascot, but your avatar advertises the Buckeyes.
