Ok, I'm looking to buy a MX-5 for 400pp/450pp and given there are more than a hand full to choose from, is there one that stands out as the tuners favourite?
I fully understand that this question would've been posted before, and you have my apologies, but an answer would be hugely appreciated.

The '04 model might be the best stock as far as power.
The Eunos 91 & 89 are Premiums.

But yeah, the MX-5 & Miata '89 for the special stripes. How can you beat hidden stripes, after all?
And if you paint it blue with the white stripe... you can make it look like Jabber Jaw. :sly:

Cheers for your help guys, the striped rides look good, very tempted. But which ones give you more bang for your buck? i.e. Weight, Power & Handling. I'm guessing the older models are a bit more flexible given the light weight

My opinion for the best MX-5 is the 2007 NC. Great handling, has the most horsepower, and is premium. Won many races in that car. Unfortunately, it does not get a stripe, but I think it has the best performance out of all the MX-5s.

My opinion comes from this FITT challenge, I think the 1600 NR-A '04 is a good choice if you do not want the '07 premium car.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I did in the end go for......all the above, I bought a '89 (double stripe), '89 Miata (single stripe) & a Roadster RS '07. Now heading for the tuning page.....see ya on the track.

Perhaps you will get lucky and @Motor City Hami will grace you with is infinite knowledge of all things Miata.

Nevermind... ^^^ that one.

In that range, I've never been faster than in the NC as it has a great deal more available grip and the power to run through the gears. If you don't want a new one, an NB 1800 is the way to go.
