I think they are all the same, but I prefer the Toyota ones:)
BTW, you should edit the title...

I like my Denny Hamlin one (Or whatever its called)

I need to collect them all at some point though.

Just wondering in real life NASCAR races are all the cars the same and the winner depends on the driver or who's in pole position? If all the cars are the same why dont teams add more hp or reduce the weight. (i'm guessing the reason is because of restrictions?)

Nascars are built to be the same, leaving it up to the driver.

Of course, since "the same" all across the board would be a bit impossible, there's surely some cars that are more performing than others.

And drafting and slipstreams car a big part of the race meaning the guy in pole wont stay in pole all race bacause all cars behind will be letting him do all the work

All 12 of the cars are the same.

Unless you are from America, you will not be able to complete the full set as of now, as the alternate #20 is a Gamestop pre-order exclusive.

Yes.
They actually have a thing called a restrictor plate that gives them less horsepower so all will be about equal, but one may still be better somehow.

In theory they are all the same, but NASCAR isn't the ones who actually make the cars. Certain engines from certain teams may have a bit more horsepower than others, and the teams are allowed a certain range of settings adjustments that in practice may or may not be better than those of other teams.

Restrictor Plates are only used at Daytona and Talladega to limit horsepower for driver and fan safety. 3400 lbs is alot to send sailing through the grandstands when a driver gets clipped in the rear quarter panel. Nascar comes down to suspension/chassis setups, and aerodynamic properties. The team that can get the car closest to perfect handling wise is most likely going to win the race barring bad luck of course(getting caught in others messes, bad pitstops, blown engines, etc.). Gas mileage at certain tracks can play a major role as well. While some manufacturers and engine builders may be able to produce more horsepower then others, It usually doesn't create much of an advantage as it's usually no more than a few horse difference. What good is a few extra HP if you can't get the power you have to the ground?

They have to fall within a range to enter and have to still be in the range after a race. It is designed to make it come down to the driver, crew, and set up.

In the game all cars come the same at 824 hp except the redbull car. It came at 865. A quick oil change increases hp right away. using the car increases it more to a max of 892.

There are rumors the the 24 and 48 can be run up to 907 hp. The trick is supposed to be that you never rebuild the engine. I have all the cars and tested that theory and have found it to be untrue to this point. I may be wrong but after 1500+ miles on each car, they have not gone over 892 hp

Only major difference between all of them in GT5 is handling, some feel looser while others more rigid and harder to steer (I'm on a wheel) but it is a very small variation that could change purely based on tuning.

No, there is no major difference between these cars. The most major difference is the colors and the manufacturer. All of these cars can be tuned identically and just because you can't reach speed X in one or horsepower Y in another is just an aberration.

Really? Then maybe you could prove your tuning capabilities and know-how and beat my top 100 TT NASCAR time on the TGTT...Didn't think so, I have spent more time on Daytona than anything else so far in GT5 and one thing I know is NASCAR, many people in many online lobbies will testify to my nascar performance and tuning abilities and know-how.

All my Nascar's are set up exactly the same. I use a wheel and can win with any of them the same. I never lose in the game and my percentage on line is very close from one car to the next. ;)
I put the rigidity upgrade on my #88 and can not tell the differnce in that car either.

Please add me to your friend list. I would really like to join you in a room sometime.
I also am looking for good drivers for some private racing.

You are comparing apples to oranges here. I said that two cars can be alike, not 2 drivers. There are two aspects to a good time, a good car and a good driver, remove one and the goal won't be reached.

No, I'm comparing my hours/days of tested and proven knowledge of NASCARs to your generic comment of claiming they are all the same. I have every NASCAR, some I have multiples of to test and compare new tunes. I spend hours on one single tune to compete with the likes of Daveyskills, I challenged him on other games and it seems once I get used to my new wheel it may carry on again in GT5.

I am quite serious about my racing, I am also very competitive with the top in the world, which I have proven on most other sims' leaderboards and GT5 too. I study and research tuning like this on the gaming and programming level to truly understand the physics and can assure you as any other person with the experience etc. I have, that some of the cars handle differently, maybe not being on the ragged edge 99% of the time you don't feel these little differences but they are there and may not affect times or speed on Daytona but once on a circuit they are much more noticeable.

yes there are some that are the same (talking about teams that have money for good engineering).

I think the best Nascar vehicle is Tony Stewart's #14 Office Depot car. Not that I'm biased or anything...lol

can someome tell what im missing here, i have 3 nascar, 24-48-18 all 3 have over 1000miles on them all 3 have had the oil change done, engine rebuilt, i can not get them to go over 892hp... i have 2 buddys that have the 24 and the 48 at 907hp.... how in tha hell did they do that?

Your buddies are not telling you the truth 892 is the max hp on all on the STOCKCARS in GT5. Set the room to 897 hp and weight to 1560 without them knowing and i bet you my garage that they will be able to enter the race without turning down the power. As far as which car is better hmmm. The online opinion is that the fords are about a tenth quicker for qual times at daytona. I personally dont think so as i run the same times in every make and model car I drive.

they are telling the truth because i saw it with my own eyes.. at one of thems house... i have read in another post that the trick is to only change the oil and not rebuild the motor... all of my nascar i have rebuilt the motor...i just bought another 88 changed the oil let i run all night (in practice mode with elastics on the controller lol) now just rechanged the oil, 892hp, its now running again alone on the track we shall see....
