Hello
Since I really like to drive Daytona Superspeedway without NASCAR cars, I'm searching for the top vehicles to do that. Back in GT5 these were Ford GT No Stripe, Enzo Ferrari and Viper ACR.
I've tested the Viper and the Ford in GT6 and unfortunately they are completely unusable. Ford is almost impossible to control and keeps scraping the wall. The Viper can be controlled better, but there's the same problem with wall scraping.
Due to that I would like to know some things: first, has someone tested the Enzo yet? Second, is there any car which is able to go fast (~380-390 kph, >400kph with slipstream) without scraping the wall? Or have they completely ruined Daytona?

I am assuming your referring to real cars, because the X2010/11/14/whatever will blow everything away. I used to make rooms on GT5 with nothing but those at Daytona and we had a blast racing with them.

Oh yes of course, I forgot to write that. I'm referring to road cars.

I can't really help car suggestion wise as I don't know...but I am surprised you have found the Ford GT undriveable/uncontrollable! I have found the GT to be extremely stable, albeit slightly twitchy on acceleration but sticks to the road pretty well and handled the high speed turn on the Indy Road Course and the Daytona road course with no problems whatsoever (I may have had TCS on 1 just for a little stability but can't say for sure as PS3 not on)

The Ford GT drives just fine but when you start hitting extreme speeds on the oval you need downforce to hold the corners without slowing down. GT6 seems more realistic when driving on Daytona Speedway in that it was just to easy to go around the track flat out in GT5.

I would not say they ruined it, instead I would say they made it better and now it requires a bit more skill/better car setup to go around it fast

That's fair enough. I hadn't driven the full ovals with the GT, just parts of them, so wasn't aware it had handling issues at highest speeds on the ovals. Good to know for the future as the GT has been my favourite car to drive so far

Tommykaira ZZ-II has good downforce, AWD-MR layout and very cheap. And it has a decent amount of power too.

Drove the Enzo for the "Like the Wind" race at Route X and man the Enzo is mean in straightline. Easily achieves 475kph without slipstream and nos (510 with draft and a little 30% nos shot).
I think you can´t go full throttle through the Daytona bends with the Enzo due to the speed she gets but due to it being a price car you have her in your garage => try her.

The Saleen S7 should do fairly well.
The Lambo Murcielago SV aswell.
And if you can handle it, the TVR Speed 12!

Ok here's a little update:
I kept on trying other cars, for example Ruf CTR2, RGT and Pagani Huyara but none of them is able to get even close to a full-throttle round. It seems that mid engine cars are just a desaster, the slightest acceleration in the curves leads to a complete loss of traction (even with traction control on 5). Then the speed in the curves always needs to be reduced (which also leads to a complete loss of traction in most of the cases), if not done, wall scraping is guaranteed. A little comparison: back in GT5 it was possible to even drive a sedan like MB E55 around the track with full throttle and without the mentioned problems. Now it seems that even a fully tuned Pagani is not able to get a lap time that a MB E55 would get in GT5. What have they done??

EDIT:
Ok so I found out that this seems to be linked to suspension settings. I usually do maximum lowering on all my cars, but today I drove a Pescarolo Judd without doing this on Daytona and it felt very, very stable. I then tried the default suspension settings on the Pagani which heavily improved its stability (although still not optimal).
