I used to get wallpaper sized stuff from space.com - I'm not sure if they still have them.

http://nix.nasa.gov/browser.html has cool space related images. You may be able to find some wallpaper material there.

Did you guys know that NASA adds the color to those space shots? They do this because the pics would look boring in black and white, which is the only way these photos come in. How does NASA know what colors to use? They don't. They just make it up, like space was just one big coloring book.

yea, that's what sucks about the shots. They make you wonder what things like the Horsehead Nebula, Hourglass Nebula and the Eskimo Nebula REALLY look like...

also, check the image galleries on space.com - not wallpaper sized but they still got some beautiful shots

Its just like those sad "We Walked with Dinosaur" programs where they generate made up creatures and try convince you that is what they actually looked like
