Best out of ps3 without hd/hdmi

Hey guys i was wondering if youse know of the best settings to use for a non hdmi / hd tv as mine just looks like **** and any settings to change in gt5 or the console settings and if so to what?

if anyone still is old school and runs old teles lol !
 
well, i had a sd tv before i got my 46" plasma.. the only thing i can say is: get a hd tv. really. it´s a different world. also you should get a 5.1 system, imo sound in videogames is an important thing and you shouldn´t set this aside.

can´t say anything about the settings, since it´s just awful to play ps3 on a sd tv and i got a hd tv as fast as i could. no offense m8, but that´s my honest opinion

i just dont have the money for the tv as when i was working and paid $900 on the console since then havent had much work and dont have 2k for a new tv =(
 
Hook it to a computer monitor? Thats what I do...
 
I still had an SD tv when I got GT5 - I was very disappointed with the look of it...felt much like GT4. Enabling the pixel smoothing/anti alias (or whatever they call it) in the PS3 XMB settings helped a bit.

But then we upgraded to a 40" HD - the difference really is huge...no comparison.
 
Set the video setting in GT5 to sharpen. Then sharpen the TV settings (not too much, or it will become even more ugly), adjust the brightness, contrast and colour. That's all you can do.

The problem with using GT5 on an SD Tv is not the colors' settings, it's the Tv resolution. Sadly, there's nothing you can do about that. Even with a bigger SD TV, you are still on 576p 4:3 mode which is far from being the best configuration to play GT5. To take full advantage from the game's graphics and contemplate the Premium models to their finest details, you need an HD TV my friend.

Personnally, after getting used to full HD, i use an SD Tv just for B-Spec events...

If you live in the USA, some companies are selling 1080p 50 inch tv's for under $1000 bucks
 
Another vote for a computer monitor. My wheel is attached to the desk and the 23" Dell sits on a stand right behind that. Monitor would only run about $125 or so and when you're sitting close like that it might as well be huge b/c it fills your whole field of view.

Edit-I use a DVI-HDMI cable for the connection. Got that for under $10 somewhere online.

2k for a tv?? U can get a hd ready lcd for under 200gbp..
 
thanks guys ill probably get a monitor sounds like the cheapest option.. :D didnt know u could run it through one of them!

mh, afaik the monitor must be capable of hdcp. i don´t know if all new monitors have this, but better to play it save :)
