Best PC Racing Game?

I apoligize if there is already a thread outthere (I couldn't find one)....

But yeah... What good racing games are there....

I already have NFSU, NFSHP2, MidnightClub2, Rallisport challenge.

And am currently looking for more..... I'm bored as hell playing them over and over again!!:banghead: :banghead:
 
The best racing games on the PC are the mods available for F12002/F1 Challenge

This is from ETCC for F1C. FWD Alfa, Seat, Civic, RWD BMW, 4WD Audi.

DTM 2002 for F1C. Merc, Opel, Audi.

They are all real simulations. You can also download new cars and tracks for them. You can play them online against other people.

EDIT: nearly forgot the best thing. Once you have bought F12002/F1C, all the mods are available for no cost whatsoever!
 
This may sound a bit stupid, but I've never been into F1 racing games much, is F12002 and F1 challenge the same game or is it just that the same mods work on both?

The mods use the EA/ISI game engine, but supply their own physics, car models etc.

Mods are designed to run on one of the games. They have to be converted if you want to run a F12002 mod on F1C.

I don't play the F1 games either. I bought both F12002 and F1C solely to play the mods.

sorry for bringing up this old thread but i didnt want to start a new one.I'm looking for a racing game that has a good customization system.that being said, i'm not really into f1 or street racing games.
 
It may have been around since 1998, Sports Car GT is about the closest you can get to Gran Turismo. The level of tuning and all sorts of cars available are just simply amazing. Just looking at these cars and the action provided is enough to help me remember WHY I got into sportscar racing. If you're able to bag this title, check it out.

Holy **** I thought I only played that game its fun but i beat it a while back.
 
Looking for a REAL challenge? Get Grand Prix Legends, you'll be spending weeks alone just learning to control the cars. It's probably the most realistic sim ever made, and it's great community have kept it alive with some excellent addons. If you can find a copy, GPL is definitly worth the money, it's a real rewarding game once you learn how to play it.
 
F12002/99-02 is the best game out there because of the mods many people called it Sports Car GT 2. GPL never grabbed me. Maybe its the the weak graphics engine the poor perfomace and the lack of modern racing modes that work well. GTR is going to be great although it looks too much like GTR2002 but feels better driving the cars.

I only paid $14 2 years ago for F1 20002 to play the GTR2002 mod and the the best mod IMO the BPR mod. There are new ones but F1 99-2002 is no longer in stores and ebay sellers want too much for it. Damn you Sony. Ok im sorry Sony :)
 
gtr is canned crap mod disguised as a full game. prob is, the underlying game engine sux.
flashy, but as real as poleposition (which was a lot more fun btw)
